Hey, I'm Steve, an active and friendly 32 year old living in North Manchester (ish) and not very good at writing descriptions of myself and things like this...not good at all! I enjoy most activities, as long as they're fun and something that can make me think and use my mind, as I'm not a fan of dull and boring activities...although I do enjoy a night in front of the TV on occasion, with good wine, good food and good company. At the moment it's just me and my cat Bumble, but I'm sure he'd love to get to know other people (when he's not busy killing his toy mousey or climbing up the curtains!). And now a second cat, Sally, who Bumble is a bit scared of :(

I should point out that I'm a bit of a classic film and sci-fi geek, I recently bought the new Star Wars box set, JUST for the extras! So I understand I'm probably not everyone's cup of tea...

Probably going to sound like a bit of a contradiction after I said I don't like boring stuff, but I'm very interested in politics and the political world. At the moment it mainly consists of shouting at the TV during Prime Minister's Qustions!

I suppose what I'm looking for in a woman is someone who likes to laugh and joke, isn't too serious and also someone who places intelligence and humour above looks...I mean I know looks are important, but to me they have to be part of a complete package, and getting to know someone I can talk to for hours on end without getting bored is a bigger priority than someone who looks great but doesn't have much in common with me.

If you are a massive Futurama fan, then that is a bonus - as long as you aren't being made to like me by the Hypnotoad!

Oh, and if you see me peeking at your profile, it generally means I like you...but I'm not very good at starting conversations...I'll get there eventually!

I'm in the process of buying a couple of houses in West Yorkshire with the intention of running a holiday letting business. Should be fun, and will allow me to only work one or two days a week initially for the same wage I'm earning now.

For some reason I get a lot of people telling me I look like James Dean Bradfield from the Manic Street Preachers. Which is one of my favourite bands, coincidentally...

I don't read enough books really, but I do like to read biographies - Richard Hammond's story of his crash and recovery still makes me well up from reading it, because it is clear just how much his wife and friends love him.

Music-wise, I love anything rock/indie as long as it's not too geard towards charty stuff - the best stuff is usually off the radar of the scene kids, and that's the way it should stay! Currently my favourite album that is on repeat is Lacuna Coil's Dark Adrenaline - if I had to, I'd probably say Cristina Scabbia is my ultimate ideal woman ^_^

I don't get time to watch much telly, but couldn't live without my Netflix account - stuff like 24, Arrested Development, Coupling and the many obscure films hidden away in its oddly-titled categories. I also love Doctor Who, Star Trek and Wars, Firefly, and many other sci-fi shows - anyone who remembers and loves Seaquest DSV and Sliders should come and watch them with me!

Who the devil would be insane enough to spend even a few hours with me *chuckle*
