Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty easy to get along with. I'm the middle child so I'm just
naturally/inherently the peacekeeper. I love to laugh and make
others laugh. But I'm kind of a sensitive b*^%# at times. I won't
attribute it to being Pisces because that might turn some off but I
will openly say I probably give more of a f*%# than most people you
meet. Sorry for caring.
And sharing is caring so. Feel free to share something about
yourself. Favorite color. Last thing you read. Something funny or
weird that happened to you. What your last/most memorable date from
OKC/online was like. Etc etc.
For example my last date and I met at a bar in Folsom. Nice little
pub. We had two drinks. We laughed, we conversed for 2 hours or
something and then she let me know I reminded her of her recently
deceased cousin. Heroine overdose. As much as I tried to make fun
of it or downplay it, this girl was convinced I was her dead
cousin. So we haven't hung out again but she's a lovely girl and we
had a nice time. Besides the parts where I was laughing nervously
and sweating bullets. Damn heroine. Kidding kidding!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Waking up at 4 and going to bed at 8:30. Showered and clothed by 5.
At work by 6. Home by 2. Mon thru fri. Then on the weekends I go
crazy and sleep in til like 8, and sometimes, when I'm feeling
really wild, I'll stay up past midnight!!!
Yeah it's a boring life but it pays the bills and it's not really
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm not so sure so let's say self doubt. I'm really good at taking
my thoughts and feelings and putting them into words. I'm good at
feeling that thought you're thinking without you having to say it
out loud, but it's nice to hear you say it anyways.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I'm an aspiring writer. I hope to one day share my
experiences in a whimsical and entertaining manner. But until I do,
I find everyone else's book an affront to my lack of drive or
ability to actually follow through with writing something and then
publishing it. I've written. I've completed a 50,000+ page book.
I've worked with USA Today to strengthen my editing game, but for
the life of me, I cannot enjoy reading like I used to because I
cannot force myself to write. It's a vicious cycle I need to get
out of somehow.
Movies: all the same shit everyone else likes. Movies are like
memories and the moment recent ones tend to stand out but that
doesn't change the value or experience of older ones. I'm just as
much a fan of the new Nolan batman as I am the Burton batman, for
example. Movies that stand out in my mind: 3:10 to Yuma, Inception,
Memento, The Fountain, Indiana Jones series, except the last one,
the Star Wars, the newer Star Trek's, Aliens, and I've never seen
the Notebook so. Yeahhhhh. Oh that reminds me, office space!!
TV: more obvious ones: game of thrones, walking dead, I also like
house of cards and daredevil on Netflix. Arrested development. The
daily show. Colbert is awesome. Not really into singing shows or
reality tv so much these days but I used to watch survivor and mtv
crap like catfish or jersey shore :/ I've outgrown that phase
Music: love everything that jives with me. Not typically a country
fan, however, even though I hate to throw blanket accusations over
any entire population instead of taking it one individual at a
time. But I will mess with Texas and I do prefer my music to be
varied. I guess that's one of my beefs with country music; folks
who like country music tend to only like country music, and
everything else is crap (or just rap) to them. I need more
tolerance and acceptance in my life. But yeah, I like Muse, the
Offspring, childish gambino, lily Allen, daft punk in small doses,
Morgan page, David guetta, green day, you get the picture... That
last one isn't a band, just saying ;)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Shit I dunno. Cursing? The interwebs, where would I meet my
beautiful wife(sarcasm)? So that's two..
Physics. Breathing. Spell check/auto correct although who says
duck/ducking all that much.. And one more. I'll be serious with
this last one...
Love. Because without it, none of us are here, and without it, not
much to live for. Although bacon is a close second.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What the duck I am doing at a max 4 security prison assisting
nurses and doctors when I have a degree in economics. And how good
it feels to not be in that place the moment I'm away, and how I
dread waking up but once I'm there, it doesn't seem all that bad.
How quickly 10 to 2 comes but how slowly 6:45 to 7:30 goes. What
I'm doing with my life and if it's my poor taste in women or their
taste in me that's giving me so many restless thoughts. And why
Why do I see the activity of folks from San Francisco? That's cool.
And your social lives are vastly superior to ours here in the city
of trees but I don't need OKC to remind me of that. We get it San
Francisco. You're cool. And we're just a bundle of sticks over
here. But you know what we don't have here? A 2 hours commute to
move 6 blocks. Boom. That's right shots fired. 💥🔫
Recent thoughts: I must be a really boring individual. But at least
my dogs excited to see me when I get home, so I got that going for
me. Is the half your age plus 7 really the unspoken standard for
age ranges? Why don't white chicks dig me at all (no disrespect to
anyone else, it's just weird that white women tend to have no
interest in me, generally speaking)? Why is ignoring a polite
message preferred to saying hi thanks not interested? Is that too
much effort? (I do this too occasionally). It's gorgeous out. I'm
gonna get off now.
Finally: does anyone else notice how there are a lot more
transsexuals on OKC? Good for them for looking for love. I'm like
who's this loud looking... Oh. It's a dude. Or a chick who used to
be a dude. Some of them... Look pretty convincing. That's cool.
Glad they're comfortable enough to put themselves out there. Not
sure that I'd be comfortable physically around someone like that
but I enjoy living in a country during a time where we can discuss
topics like these. I don't know where I'm going with this.
7/21/15: ok one more. I notice a lot of ladies saying message me
if: "you can grow a good beard." Ok. Lets dissect this request. You
realize when we grow facial hair, it's because the hair has left
somewhere else on our body. For most men it's the top of the head.
So if they've got super rich plush beards by the time they're in
their late 20s, they're gonna be wearing a lot of hats into their
30s. So you should really say, message me if you like wearing hats
because it's less offensive to us full haired, non-balding men who
didn't choose to be bald faced anymore than you choose to have
large/non-existent chesticles. :)
8/12/15: I think I'm about ready to hang em up. The last person I
talked to on here said our "lifestyles were too different" before
even meeting. Yeah I guess working and paying bills is unattractive
especially when you don't go out every weekend. I dunno why it's so
hard to find someone who has balance and can both go out/adventure
and do stuff around the house, but alas. I guess that's too much to
ask for. So. You can find me over on eharmony. Maybe not everyone
on there hikes and drinks every weekend. /sarcasm and you can "keep
it blunt and true to yourself" and still be an asshole. Just
blurting out things doesn't give you some free pass to your past
behavior just cause.. Yeah I'm over this. Which ways the door?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Trying to live in the moment and take advantage of whatever
opportunities might come my way. Maybe it's going out and having
fun with friends, maybe it's staying in and having fun being an
introvert. There's nothing typical about the atypical life. Except
online dating; what's more typical than searching for a connection
with someone else?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You probably won't. Not because I'm a glass half empty type but
because more than half the messages I send out never get replied
to. Of all the girls I've met and talked to and discussed their
experiences with, apparently (most of) you all get sooooooo many
messages it's just impossible for you to respond to something
simple like hey or what's up or how's your week been, so we gotta
go with something more traditional and original to get past that
first layer of defense. Maybe I'll comment on something quirky on
your photos, but never anything obvious like a tattoo or pretty
hair or eyes because God knows that's cliche enough right? So I put
some time and thought process into formulating something that shows
interest and maybe hints at a shared hobby or activity we could
talk about. Could be cinema, books, basketball, comics, video
games, your dog that is almost as cool as my dog but not as cool,
whatever. And then we can see where it goes from there if you reply
at all which history tells me you're more likely to ignore me and
think my feeble attempt at saying hi is more pathetic and creepy
than cute and endearing.
So yeah if any of that sounds good. I like dark hair and dark eyes.
If that helps. If you have a sense of humor, huge bonus. If my
profile comes off to you as sad or negative or pathetic, clearly
you didn't read it as the satire that i have presented it as. The
only thing I'm missing is the shirtless mirror selfie and I don't
have one of those because I'm so white, a shirtless photo of me
could blind someone and I don't want to be responsible or liable
for that. Thanks for stopping by and best of luck out there!!!
