I am passionate, funny, and secure.

My Self-Summary

Ok, I didn't get the bracket thing alright?

I'm Rob, just moved to Oregon from MD by way of Alaska. My job keeps me moving, so travel is something I guess I have to like out of necessity; I guess my new job has me staying put though for a few years!

To be honest, I am a big kid. I love the things I have in my life, and even though I have direction and a career, I am not real serious. I mean that in a good way, I like to goof off, go do fun things, occasionally I have been known to screen my calls on off days if you know what I mean....

I am passionate about my interests, the kind of person who turns up a song so loud that neighbors can hear it, and I would still be like "sit still, you'll miss the best part". Everyone within a block knows if I have seen a Corvette, I freak out lol. I love the cars.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, good one ha! I have been in the Coast Guard now for 10 years, so I think it's safe to say I am making it a career. It has been good to me, you know? After I retire at the ripe old age of 38, I want to build old cars, work at a hot rod shop or something, so I will be taking classes for that starting next summer. Also want to pursue my musical interests, which means I really want to play in some really small bars with a group of great guys who are also in it for fun. I really am a big kid!

I also just quit smoking after 10 years of a bad habit. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be. I started lifting weights and exercising to get back into great shape like I was in after high school. By the way, lifting weights sucks, I hate it actually. Along with the smoking thing is the drinking thing. I have pretty much stopped "drinking" in the social sense. I don't go partying or clubbing, but I will have drinks with dinner, or maybe go play pool every once in a while and have beer. Doing things to be healthier has been a big change in my life, and I am glad I am doing it.

I’m really good at

Well, I am not really good at anything. Lying I guess. Ok, kidding. I am actually superb at being a smart ass. I have been playing guitar now for almost 12 years, so I guess I am ok at that. I personally think I should be better. I love working on my cars, but I am not what I would call "really" good at it lol. Let's see, I build model airplanes (another holdover from being a big kid), but again, I am not super good at it. Making people laugh is something I am good at I suppose.

The first things people usually notice about me

My mannerisms. If you tied me to a chair and asked me to tell a story, I would fall over lol, I cannot talk without using my hands. I have been told I have a nice smile too.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A) Catch-22, The Last King, anything having to do with WWII aviation.

B) Not much of a T.V. watcher, but again with the WWII thing and also westerns, especially John Wayne. Smokey and The Bandit is one of my favs too!

C) Easy: Classic Rock and Blues.

D) Anything. I am an eater, not a fighter.

The six things I could never do without

1) My Family
2) My Corvettes
3) Music
4) My guitars
5) Humor
6) Toilet Paper

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Wow, um....my mind goes a hundred miles a minute, thinking about different things all the time. I really don't give serious though about stuff in my life because I am indifferent about many things. I used to think a lot about the woman who was in my life until recently, but now that she is no longer part of my life...

I am not a "mull" person I guess. It has taken me years to realize that once someone makes a decision, or something happens in life, there is very little that can be done about it, so I don't let things worry me anymore. Honestly, I made the change last year, and I have been less stressed and more happy than I had been until then.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either working or at my place doing nerd stuff, like reading or building a model lol. Sometimes I am out, but not often.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My middle name is Grover. Please keep it a secret though....

You should message me if

You should message me if you want to. All the things before this are ballpark, surface scratching ideas of who I am. If you really want to know me, or anyone else actually, you have to invest some time in it.
