Upfront Disclosure: Hi there, I am a mostly straight, opportunistically bi trans-feminine, mtf woman. That means I know more about gender roles and behavior than the average bear. You could best describe me as conventionally unconventional. Hopefully you know what that means, if not it's ok, I'll patiently educate you while you ask rude and insensitive personal questions. I promise.

Ok if you're still reading this... yay!!! Mostly what I am is profoundly normal. Ok, ok, not superduper normal in the hetero-normative Mom and Apple pie kind of way but mostly normal. I'm not supposed to be, but I am. Conventionally unconventional, but not so much in a Lou Reidian sense. (I do have a wild side, and no you can't walk on it, unless you ask nicely.)

Right now, or generally? Right this second, I'm making an attempt to entertain you, the reader with my witty banter and amazing awesomeness. (I hope it's working?) Next I'm going to sway you with a heartfelt and soul searching look into the very core of my being. Because I'm looking for you, a friend or maybe a lover to share a bottle of wine with and good conversation.

More generally, what am I doing with my life. I'm living it. Long term, I'm preparing for an eventual run for United States congress, then the Senate. Yes' that's right I'm going to be the country's first transsexual United States congresswoman. That would be lots of fun. Actually maybe not. (addendum: I wrote this sometime ago before congress had a lower approval rating than Ebola)

Funnily enough at one point in my life that was my plan. I wanted to represent the 2nd congressional district in South Georgia. I lived in Washington DC for 4 years, and interned on Capitol Hill during high school. Somewhere along the way I ended up bypassing law school and ended up working as a rare and antiquarian bookseller in New York City.

I found happiness too. It's fleeting and sometimes hard to hold on to, but I found it. It's a powerful thing to stop living for others and to start living for yourself. Honestly, I'm too honest to ever make it in politics. If I were to get into the game, I'd be an honest crook, I swear.

I want to do lots of things with my life. I would love to try stand up comedy. I want to ride my bike cross country. I would love to be a foster parent for lgbt teens or older children, and help to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Googling, losing weight, talking, standing up and talking, sitting down and talking, chewing gum, walking and talking, listening to jokes, telling myself I'll remember that joke, trying to retell a joke, and screwing it up, seeking and finding, playing with old books, thinking about writing, writing stuff, reading stuff, not caring about football, not caring about baseball, not caring about golf, not caring about most sports, making fun of republicans, not arguing with idiots, engaging in intelligent discourse on a variety of subjects, geeking out on the stuff I like to geek out on, looking like I'm smart, making lists, doing most of the stuff on the list, and walking. I'm an excellent walker.

gahh... Ok, I'm really not good at answering these things. My first reaction to this question is stuff like:
