My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an ardent believer in life as art, and nowhere is this more true for me than in relationships. I am demonstrative, lavish, attentive and a little classical in romance. You will have to say the words, "I insist," and mean it, if you ever want to pay for dinner. I am also, however, an avid feminist. Go figure.
I remember favorites: foods, colors, music. I am a giver of unusual compliments, of gifts, laughter, poetry, chapters read aloud from favorite books on a rainy day.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
When I was a kid, people would always ask, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" And other kids wanted to be rockstars, or ninjas, or Chewbacca, but I could never decide. So I asked my mom. I said, "Mom, what do you say when you want to be EVERYTHING when you grow up?" and she said, "I dunno...I guess you say you want to be a Renaissance Man." So I did. And now I'm pretty much living the dream. By day I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Structural Integration and Asian Manual Therapies (bonus points if you know what either of these things are). I have a private practice with my dad (an acupuncturist) and am in acupuncture college myself on track to take over da family business (we're like the mafia, except Jewish and with alternative medicine).
By night I play music from Guinea West Africa, and once in a blue moon I work on my novel whose protagonist is a six-year-old girl who flipped me the bird one time. So yeah, not a lot of spare time. But with the little I have, I'm looking for someone to share all this stuff with. Plus whatever you bring to the picnic.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making the body stop hurting and work better, remembering names, compliments, doing voices, music, writing, reading, stories, languages, acting, jokes, being considerate, being attentive, making people feel comfortable.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I couldn't answer this on my own...I've never had the experience of being another person noticing myself (which I'm kind of sad about actually, would be surreally interesting) so I asked some old friends and some new friends, and a young priest, and an old priest, and the general consensus seemed to be: eloquence, kind eyes, freckles.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether it is possible to be a Jack of all trades and still a master of some. Or at least one.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There are typical Friday nights? There are typical any nights? Treating my wonderful clients, playing a show somewhere in the country or out of it, in the studio, practicing kora, working on a story, a song, a poem, the novel, the screenplay...I would love for somebody to reintroduce me to recreation for the sake of recreation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes hold extensive conversations with myself in various foreign accents, and in the voices of various famous people.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you are bold and vigorous, if you know what you want, if you are quick and generous with your wit and your affection, if you are not at all cool- okay maybe just a little bit cool- if you are tender, if you love stories, if you love excursions into cultures not your own, if you will kiss a man first sometimes, if you will notice things about him you admire and tell him so, if you will laugh and come back with a joke of your own, if you will give as well as take.
And unfortunately, after reaching a critical mass of wasted time, I need to add: If you think breaking plans with someone who works for a living without sufficient notice is inconsiderate and juvenile.
And after learning this the hard way: If you had a relatively happy childhood, with a relatively stable family.
