What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Figuring it out. Right now I can't say I know what my life's work is; I can say that as new doors open up to me, I'm often happily surprised by what they reveal.

Right now I work with adolescents with eating disorders. It's challenging work, there's never a dull moment, and I have the most amazing coworkers. I've gotten to move into a role of my creation, as coordinator of activities, which isn't surprising - I love to craft and be creative, and seeing young people struggling in life getting to have moments of normal kid-ness is incredibly motivating to me.

Another fun fact: after college, I took a dive into the culinary industry and loved it - working in a farm-to-table restaurant was the ultimate creative outlet for me.

Outside of work, I try to spend time with people who are important to me, a cat who is important to me, take trips, plan get togethers, tend to soil-bound life that is important to me, relax by the pool, decorate my apartment, ponder the universe, existence, meaning...y'know, like you do.

I love planning trips or parties. Let's go to the beach for a weekend or rent a house in the mountains with friends! Or a romantic Caribbean vacation. Or Europe.

I hope to add a fulfilling partnership along the way.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking! I've loved it all my life and it led me to working in a restaurant kitchen for a couple of years. My idea of a (one of many) perfect afternoon(s) would be making fresh pasta and promptly having it for dinner. Or baking a pie. Or experimenting with Indian food. With someone, of course.

Planning - give me a vacation or a party theme and watch out!

Listening, growing herbs, pet whispering.

I'm also surprisingly good at shopping for other people - looking for a great piece of art for your living room or a replacement for your favorite pair of shoes? I'm your girl.
The first things people usually notice about me

My strawberry blonde hair. I also sometimes laugh inappropriately loud. That I always appear cool, calm and collected.

I can be rather picky when it comes to what I read - I really have to feel compelled by the story or topic, and there doesn't seem to be a good pattern to it. My nonfiction go-to's are about food, neuroscience, home design, science.

Eternal Sunshine, Waitress, You've Got Mail, Moon, Tron, Steel Magnolias, Anchorman, Elf, Forrest Gump, Stranger than Fiction ("I brought you flours"), Mona Lisa Smile, Contact

Mad Men, Portlandia, Parks and Recreation, Girls, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Sex and the City, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Office, Gilmore Girls, Silicone Valley, Last Man On Earth

OK Go and The Shins/Broken Bells are my all-time favorites. I could go on about my love for OK Go. Sadly I've only seen their show once - on my birthday when I was living in New York.

Florence + the Machine, Bon Iver, Gotye, Feist, Washed Out, Norah Jones, Mumford and Sons (loving their new album), Daft Punk, Ellie Goulding, Billy Joel, Queen, Jack Johnson

Songza's "Crowd Pleasing Indie Pop" and "Chardonnay Soirée" playlists

I can't seem to stop myself from enjoying Maroon 5

Crosswords and word puzzles

I'm open to just about anything regarding food. Greek/Mediterranean, Thai, Indian, good Italian, Barbeque, and Chinese. Oh, and the chocolate croissants at the farmer's market. Good coffee. Wheat-y beers. Wine. Very sour pickly things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Chocolate, humor, honest conversations, close friends/family, a well-equipped kitchen and willing diners, lazy Saturday or Sunday mornings
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can be more open minded to other perspectives, plans I want to make, various and sundry things that I have to google search right now
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out or in with friends. Going to new restaurants downtown, to movies, cafe's, bars, or in for a potluck, art night, or game night; I am reasonable at pool and trivial pursuit (which does not translate to any kind of skill at bar trivia, I'm sad to say)

On a less-typical Friday night, I'd like to...go to the fair, paint pottery, see a concert, set out on a weekend road trip, take a dance lesson, try a new restaurant

I also enjoy a good Netflix binge on the couch
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I had my appendix taken out, they told me it was longer than average. So there's that.
