My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a loyal, smart, creative, thoughtful, fun loving soul looking for a co-pilot in this crazy journey called life.

If you want to learn a bit more about me please go to.....

So like you I'd rather meet in the "real world" but apparently we have yet to bump into each other in the same coffee shop or bar, you don't work out at the same Bally's, and any mutual friends we share are too inept or self centered to think about setting us up.

You -

**love dogs or you are not appalled by people that treat their dogs like members of the family. (I lost mine a little while ago so this is no longer mandatory.)

**Try to keep an open mind and are NOT someone who will argue your point to death with strangers, but secretly want to strangle ultra conservative Republicans while being polite and easy going with them.

**Watch no more than 2 reality shows religiously

**Have a good balance between work and fun but would sooner cancel a work appointment than plans to go with friends to Taste of Chicago.

**Have less baggage than O'Hare or even Midway on a slow day but you've experienced life -- had your share of ups and downs, triumphs and struggles, and are stronger for it.

**Live in the city, reasonably close or come down frequently.

I have no pre-conceived idea of who my soul mate should be,... I trust fate's judgment more than my own. So, if this doesn't describe you but you get a good vibe please write.

I'm hoping to start a long-term relationship but don't go into each and every date with a check list trying to figure out if this is "the one."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Outside of getting older.....

I have my own advertising business. I sell the ad space; I don't do the design work. Well on occasion I do. My business requires a bit of explanation. It's a unique niche.

I'm also a musician, and I've been aggressively trying to promote my album Next Exit... Brigadoon. I'll do some right now -- it's available at the typical online retailers and itunes as well as Barnes and Noble and some big box stores. Currently, I'm just living one day at a time. Ten years from now everything might be different. I'm not averse to change.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
forgetting appointments, saying the exact wrong thing to the wrong person, putting things off, getting both parking and speeding tickets, impatience, taking my money out of the ATM but leaving the card behind, and of course self-deprecation.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I just rear ended their car. No, I'm just kidding. Geez, I'm not too sure. It really depends on the situation. Sometimes I can seem quite confident, if I'm in a comfortable environment, but other times I can be introverted. I suspect people may notice the fact that I'm somewhat of a non-conformist. Perhaps some may even say that I'm smarter than your average bear.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books = Most anything by Hunter Thompson, also Robert Fulghum, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig, The God Delusion by Dawkins (though he's very condesending). Honestly, I read more magazines and newspapers these days.

movies = Godfather 1 and 2, Woody Allen prior to the mid nineties, Jacob's Ladder, The Believer, Short Cuts, Hitchcock stuff, Being John Malkovich, American Beauty, Citizen Kane, Spinal Tap, Do the Right Thing, just the ones that popped in my head.

music = I'm a musician but I honestly don't have very eclectic taste in music. Springsteen and Dylan are my 2 biggest influences as a songwriter.

food = Lou Malnati's Pizza, anything unusual or ethnic, Wisconsin State Fair creme puffs, pink champagne cake (you probably never heard of it)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Outside of my basic physiological needs....

1) Inspiration

2) A few good friends / family

3) Diet Fresca -- I drink gallons of it.

4) A car -- I don't know how anyone deals with public transportation 100% of the time.

5) A shower with great water pressure.

6) Passport

honorary mention to.....
a guitar, internet, phone, in unit laundry, and spell check.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I skipped this one, and I'm now coming back to it. I try to spend most of my time in the present moment without dwelling on the past or projecting for too long or too far into the future. I'm an artist so I think about an awful lot of things. I have strong political convictions, but I don't sit and think about them too often. I don't know really; this is a tough question for me. I'll give it some more thought.... no pun intended.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't really have a typical Friday. I no longer have a huge compulsion to go out each and every weekend evening, so I'm possibly chilling at home or out with friends at a comedy club, movie, seeing a band, street fest, art fair or live theater. Ocassionally, I have a gig.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
hmmm... not willing to admit too much on here. 1) sometimes I sample cookies at the grocery store from the plastic bin. 2) I let my dog Yin Yang kiss me directly on the lips when no one is looking. 3) I voted for Rod Blagojevich. That's about it right now.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
..... I in anyway piqued your interest, or if you already wrote everyone else and are getting desperate.
