I love books. A great, big library or a small, independent
bookstore are two of my favorite places to hang. I know it's
convenient, but I really don't think I could vibe well with someone
who is obsessed with their Kindle. I dig the feel and smell of
books, especially second-hand ones that have cracked covers,
thoughts scribbled in the margins, and perhaps some food spilled on
it's pages. It's like a story within a story. I still love to read
the newspaper with a good cup of coffee. I've recently decided to
read every Fiction book that's won the Pulitzer Prize, in no
particular order. So far I've gotten through The Hours by Michael
Cunningham, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and Beloved by Toni
Morrison. I fell in love with A Visit from the Goon Squad by
Jennifer Egan before I endeavored into this project. Also, Just
Kids by Patti Smith is incredibly eloquent and inspiring.
I'll be brief with the rest.
Movies- True Romance, Death Proof, Pulp Fiction. Yes, I love
Tarantino. 21 Jump Street made me DIE. I have a serious soft spot
for fantastically depressing movies like What Dreams May Come.
Amelie, Before Sunrise, Cinema Paradiso, and anything by Pedro
Shows- The Wire, Modern Family, Homeland, Dexter, Awkward
Music- Talking Heads, The Cure, Beck, Lana Del Rey--these are the
ones I can listen to on repeat. Anything live, I love bluegrass,
jam bands, blues, jazz, funk, and I am obsessed with symphonies and
orchestras. Books and music are my favorite things in the whole
Food- I will try anything. Seriously.
