My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Originally from northeast Arkansas, but now Atlanta is my home while I work toward my PhD in chemistry. I'm very driven in my career goals, but do my best to take the time out of my day to appreciate the little things in life, relax and have fun. Upfront I'm very goofy and aloof, and probably make too many jokes and sarcastic jokes for the everyday person. Deep down I'm hardworking and fiercely loyal to my friends and family.

Being a full time grad student doesn't really allow me much free time during the week. After work I usually unwind at home by watching Netflix or grabbing a beer with friends. I generally spend my weekend going to Stone Mountain or Piedmont park, playing board games (nerdy, I know), or out for drinks and karaoke with friends, etc. When spring rolls around chances are you'll find me at a baseball game or hiking. Definitely somewhere outdoors if I can help it.

I recently got into hiking since I moved to Georgia. Not so much of that where I grew up. I had the wonderful opportunity to spend last summer (and this summer as well) on an internship in New Mexico, which only increased my desire to continue exploring the world around me. I'd like to travel across more of the US and abroad eventually. Currently my top list of places I'd like to visit are Washington, Oregon, California, the UK, Germany, Italy, and Australia.

I thoroughly enjoy pop culture references and ideally want somebody who both appreciates my offbeat humor and likes my sarcastic style. Someone who's my best friend really, and that doesn't take themselves too seriously but is also driven at the same time. I want someone who challenges me to best person I can be (hopefully do I the same for them). Just shoot an email if you think we'd connect. Let's just have some fun and get to know each other! Maybe watch Game of Thrones together or go on a short hike and get some coffee afterward. I promise not to nerd out...too much. Did I mention that I'm a nerd? Yeah, that's probably pretty apparent already.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently working on finishing my PhD. I don't have a lot of time during the week so I generally spend my weekend relaxing. Going to Stone Mountain or Piedmont park, Braves games, out for drinks and karaoke with friends, etc.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-Pop culture
-Karaoke (Not the best mind you, but pretty good at it)
-Board games (well I don't know how good, but they're crazy fun)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well this seems odd. I've kinda known me for awhile. Why don't you tell me?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: LOTR, Enders Game, Furies of Calderon, Harry Potter

Movies: All QT (especially Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained), Star Trek, Star Wars, Independence Day, Clue, Princess Bride, Little Shop of Horrors, Mel Brooks, and very dramatic/ Oscar worthy movies (Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, Gladiator, etc.)

TV: British comedy (Red Dwarf, IT Crowd, Blackadder) and Sherlock, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, It's Always Sunny, Scrubs, Friends, M*A*S*H*, The League, Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, Robot Chicken, Top Chef, Hells Kitchen, Master Chef (Gordon Ramsey. I love that man.)

Music: Classic and current rock, some metal, 90's alt. Poison, CCR, Def Leppard, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, System of a Down, Disturbed, The Killers, The Offspring, Pearl Jam, 80's/90's one hit wonders, and yes some pop. Lady Gaga is catchy as shit. I'll admit it.

Food: I like almost all types of food, except Asian cuisine. Just not for me. I like trying to make all kinds of food too. Especially if it involves a steak, or lots of meat in general. My proudest creation yet is a stuffed pork tenderloin with a dressing I made from scratch. It was amazing. You can be jealous now.

I also my video games. Favorites include Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy series, Age of Empires, Halo, Call of Duty, and League of Legends (name upon request. Let's play!). I'm also pretty addicted to DBZ abridged. It's absolutely amazing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Friends/family
2) Inserting movie quotes into real life. Every situation can fit this. How? Life uhh....finds a way.
3) Nature. Go hiking/ camping and experience this amazing world we live in. Get unplugged every once in a while!
4) Computer
5) Netflix.
6) Science. Technically, none of us can go without it. It's everywhere, and it's pretty cool stuff.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
At work, lasers and such. Outside of work, new movies\tv, pop culture, places I'd like to visit, things I'd buy with the lottery, and random hypothetical questions. It's fun game to play with somebody. Give it a try. And where I might end up for a career when I finish grad school. What new place I should visit next, within and outside the country.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Braves games, out for drinks and karaoke with friends at the Vortex, Metro Cafe, etc., or as of late, having a Netflix marathon at home with a few beers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm from Arkansas. Yeah, that's about it. I get teased about it from time to time. Besides, if you really wanna know something personal, just ask. It takes a friggin' lot to offend me.

If you'd like to get together for a stroll around Stone Mountain, have a drink, catch a good cult movie, and just have a fun time.
