My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm English. I just landed in Los Angeles, and I'm going to be here a while.

Sometime actor, director, writer, computer-geek and gamer; I vary dependent on setting. I can be calm, quiet, shy, kind and thoughtful. I can also be loud, witty, bombastic, and somewhat chaotic. I don't know how to relax. I do know how to have fun. I'm extremely practical, but probably too clever for my own good.

I'm not an extrovert, but I'm good at pretending for short periods. I was worried I was getting predictable, but a good friend assures me that this is true only in a chaos theory kind of sense.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I might be a screenwriter. I'll let you know when I find out for sure. By day I sometimes put on a suit and pretend to be a project manager or analyst for all sorts of companies. I'm good at those things.

By night I might be caught acting, directing, writing, dancing, seeing films, plays and/or friends; or buried in a particularly obscure game. I might not be caught robbing banks or holding cities to ransom. Which isn't to say that I'm not.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Anything that interests me.

Setting scenes. Stealing scenes. Creating scenes - in a fun sense. I'm good with scenes in general actually.

Listening. Talking. Phrasing. Improvising. Pulling rabbits out of hats. Recovering from complete and total disasters. Turning up three hours late, but with fireworks. Getting away with it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my voice, which at any point may be blithering a stream of eloquently-phrased nonsense in any given dialect - although my native "terribly, terribly English" accent is most common.

People also mention my smile, and my laugh. I like that people mention these things.

a) 'Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell' by Susanna Clarke. 'Sandman' by Neil Gaiman. Also Pratchett, Shakespeare, David Ives and Kaufman & Hart.

b) 'The Princess Bride', 'Shakespeare in Love', 'Lock Stock...', 'Dr Strangelove', 'Some Like It Hot'. The recent rise of geeky fantasy, superhero and video game movies also pleases me. Some of them are even quite good!

c) Historically: Press Gang, Knightmare, Life on Mars, Ally McBeal. More recently: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Doctor Who (although only 49% of the episodes are worth watching. Seriously, 49%. I have a spreadsheet of them and everything).

d) Anything with it's roots in rock, from classic rhythm and blues rock, right the way through the decades to melodic metal and rock-tinged dance & electronica. I especially like a lot of goth and alt rock.

e) Anything containing pineapple, chilli, or preferably both. I'm a pioneer of mexican-hawian-italian cuisine, or possibly just a man who thinks that spicy pineapple bolognese is a good idea (it is.)

I also bake.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music - People to care for - Time alone - People to perform to - Some kind of challenge

There's definitely something else, but I've forgotten what it is. Anyone who knows me will tell you that this is typical.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The Algonquin Round Table.

That's an old answer, I haven't thought about them much for a couple of years now. Now I think about Lovecraft style writing and systems optimisation (businesses, games, government...)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dancing to goth or altrock in a dark and glorious nightclub; on stage in a theatre, being magnificant; playing games with friends (boardgames, tabletop rpgs, CCGs, Dota); flat out asleep; taking in a show; having dinner with friends; in a field somewhere dressed as an orc, elf or wizard... you know there really aren't a lot of typical Friday nights. I'm into a lot of stuff.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You want to play Beatrice to my Benedick. You're kinda crazy, in a good way. You're not afraid to tell me to shut up once in a while. (Not that it's often necessary, I just like a woman who can stand up to me!)

You want to meet up and go to the theatre, or to a dark alternative nightclub and drink and dance the night away, or to dress up in costumes and terrify the locals. Or best of all, you have an even better idea and want to tell me about it.
