I spend a lot of time thinking about
I prefer the word "imagine" over the word "think." There are so many limitations to "logical" thinking. Every once in a while, one must try to move beyond the real and into the symbolic.
On a typical Friday night I am
Reading, listening to a symphony, drinking wine, dining with friends, or obsessively crafting (I'm one of those Martha Stewart types who loves to create something out of nothing).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a soft spot for gothic literature, especially old Victorian narratives about vampires (think J. Sheridan Le Fanu, Mary E. Braddon, and John Polidori). I'm especially concerned with the way our media has desensitized children and teens to these monsters. Vampires are villains! They're supposed to be creepy, sinister, and fiendish. Also, I firmly believe that Bram Stoker's Dracula is the greatest English novel of the 19th century.
