My self-summary
I'm a programmer working for a tech non-profit. I'm originally from Sydney, Australia and have just moved to SF from Boston, where I spent a year. I love learning new areas, so genuinely enjoy hearing about people's passions!

I'm happiest when I'm working through a task or in the midst of a discussion with friends. If I could live life at the same pace as The West Wing, I would. Well... I'd also like The West Wing to involve more science, robots, time travel and/or the cast of Community/Firefly/..., but I guess I can't be too picky =[
What I’m doing with my life
When you see me, I'll always have a laptop or sketch book in my hands. It may look like work, but I can promise you it's exactly what I want to be doing. If your work and fun are the same thing, you'll never need a vacation =]
I’m really good at
...balancing social conversations. You know those times when there's a group of three or four people speaking and [two people go to speak at the same time | one person speaks over another person]? I mentally keep track of that and prod them later to get their half of the conversation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: The Social Network, Thank You For Smoking, Iron Man *, Batman *, Avengers, Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator, Inception, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Cabin in the Woods, ...

TV Shows: House of Cards, The West Wing, Suits, White Collar, The Newsroom, Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Pushing Daisies, Better off Ted, Community, HIMYM, The Office (US), True Blood, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Firefly, Yes [Prime] Minister, Black Books, IT Crowd, House, Breaking Bad, Jericho, Walking Dead, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, ... A few more ^_^

Books: Asimov's Foundation series, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Ender's Game, Discworld *, Oracle Night, _why's Guide to Ruby, ... Sadly most of the books I read now are non-fiction and technical.

I love documentaries (I'm not ashamed to say I've watched multiple "How It's Made" episodes in a row) and podcasts such as NPR Planet Money (or more specifically almost all NPR), TED talks, tech talks, Louis Theroux, Morgan Spurlock and so on.

Music: Movie soundtracks. Many, many a soundtrack! As far as non-movie soundtracks, I generally love songs and not artists. There are a handful of exceptions.

Food: I'm quite limited. A picky eater sadly. Improving slowly and steadily, but I generally have a fairly limited set of options from the menu.
The six things I could never do without
Laptop, internet connection, friends who can hold a good conversation, an electric blanket, a sketch book, and some media (video or music) playing in the background.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next challenges I want to set for myself. And finessing my plans to take over the world of course. Occasionally methods for surviving the coming zombie apocalypse and/or non-standard post-apocalyptic scenario.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Some people wake up using coffee. I wake up using the shower. I could spend an eternity in there but luckily I feel guilty about wasting water and keep the length limited.
The private part, however, is that I know the optimal way to watch a television show or documentary in a glass enclosed shower. You'll need a laptop, a good episode, subtitles in case you can't hear the nuance over the roar of the water, and liquid soap to prevent the glass from fogging up.
