I am Genre Fiction, Historical Accuracy, and Epic Action Sequence.
My Self-Summary
I'm a pretty average
book nerd - I love poetry and
history,
philosophy and debate. I'm also a bit of a sci-fi/fantasy fan.
Nothing makes me happier than
cooking for friends.
I come from Rhode Island, the land of
HP Lovecraft, Family Guy, frozen
lemonade, the country's last recorded vampire, and gigantic
Italian and
Portuguese populations (including me), and I'm damn proud of
it.
I just got out of a two-year relationship with a woman who is now
my close friend. I'm not sure whether or not I'm ready to date
again, but I want to meet some new people. This profile has
actually existed for a long time - I just forgot it existed and
then one day I was sorting through my Spam box on my email and
there was OkCupid.
missmalkin,
crazylikebread
and
whitestripes4vr are my dearest
hearts. I'd go nuts without them - they make me smile when I'm sad
and laugh when I'm crying. If you have anything you want to know
about me but are too shy to ask - ask them, they know me well :)
SammiiT1203 and
Puckington are my
best friends in the universe. They've seen me through thick and
thin, high and low, and mean more to me than anyone else.
I've been a
Girl
Scout almost my entire life. I may not always admit it, but I
love the outdoors on a summer night, and cooking over a
campfire, and watching the
stars from my sleeping bag. I'm not a huge fan of hiking, but I'll
pitch a tent in a heartbeat.
What I’m doing with my life
Just found a new job, so now it's time to save for a new place and
come to terms with the fact that it might be a few years before I
can afford to finish my undergrad.
I just finished directing a run of Shakespeare's A Midsummer
Night's Dream, and now I'm working on learning my lines for a
production of The Taming of the Shrew, which I was just cast in.
(In case you can't tell, I'm a Shakespeare nut...)
I’m really good at
Being confusing. Speaking in riddles. Thinking about
monkeys on
unicycles.
In all seriousness... I'm good at making obscure references when
they make the least sense, I'm a very good cook, and I'm working on
becoming a better singer. Oh, and
reading... I'm good at that...
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I have black hair? Or the random silver streaks found
in said black hair?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
This list will take far too long to complete.
I read constantly, I am a movie whore, I sing constantly, and I
love to cook, but here's my attempt:
The Great
Gatsby,
Holy Barbarians,
American Eve,
The Physick
Book of Deliverance Dane, the Robert Langdon books:
Angels &
Demons,
DaVinci Code and
The Lost Symbol,
Princess Bride (yes,
the book), Timeline, To Kill a Mockingbird, Frankenstein,
This Side of
Paradise, Casino Royale, Wicked,
Peter Pan,
Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern are Dead, anything by
Shakespeare
Almost
Famous,
Shakespeare in Love, Casino
Royale, Swing Kids, Casablanca, To Have or Have Not, High Fidelity,
Dogma, The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Good
Will Hunting, Talented Mr. Ripley, Rebel Without a Cause, The
Counte of Monte Cristo, Much Ado About Nothing,
Dead Poets Society,
Pan's Labyrinth, Across the Universe, UP, Julie & Julia,
Timeline, Sense & Sensibility, plus hundreds more...
Music isn't so much what I do like as what I don't... I never got
into rap or hip hop, but I love pretty much everything else. And
yes, everything else includes country. I have some very emotional
connections to country music which I am happy to explain to anyone
who thinks "wtf?" when they see this.
As far as food goes, there are few things I won't try - but my
favorites are Italian, Mexican, French, Chinese, Japanese, and
"American"
Not designated, but also important:
My favorite TV shows are - Friends,
Gilmore Girls,
Stargate SG-1 (NOT
Atlantis), The
Big Bang Theory, most versions
of
Star Trek
(TNG, original, Enterprise),
Buffy the Vampire
Slayer, and a handful of
Disney shows.
The six things I could never do without
My Shakespeare anthology
My guitar
My laptop
A fully stocked kitchen
My friends
A plethora of useless knowledge at my fingertips.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Shakespeare. And the Beatles. New kinds of tea and coffee to try.
Sometimes I listen to the Beatles while I read Shakespeare and
drink tea. It makes me smile in a very satisfied way.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends or at rehearsal.
Also, at nighttime I inspire songs. Here is one my friend
whitestripes4vr wrote
about me :)
Em-i-ly
Can't you see
Songs for thee do no justice cause you're smart and priittyyy
Em-i-ly
Likes Shakespeare
And drops ice cubes down the vest of fear
:)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I recently went to
King Richard's Faire in a
half-assed costume just for shits and giggles, and fell in love
with the atmosphere.
Ren faires bring out memories of
lives long past lived :)
Also, I have a new found thing for gingers... I'm not sure why...
You should message me if
...if you've made it this far, you've probably seen something that
you like. Just a guess.
I guarantee a reply message to anyone who actually knows who Arlo
Gutherie is. I've found that a surprising amount of people have no
clue. (This saddens me.)
I suppose this is also the place to mention that at the moment I'm
more interested in meeting a nice bloke than a nice lady. I'm not
sure why - I just happened to be more attracted to gentlemen at the
moment.
