My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Marcus, and I'm kind of a cool dude. How's that for an attention-grabbing line?

Hate this part, but here goes: I'm kind, thoughtful, respectful, a great talker and an even better listener. As if all that wasn't enough I'm funny, witty, charismatic, and am most definitely not a psychotic serial killer or super villain.

Most of all, I'm a huge nerd. Video games are my biggest passion, with writing as a very close second. I'm also a life-long fan of WWE and pro-wrestling in general. I also enjoy reading comic books, with The Amazing Spider-Man number one favorite. Ta-da, I've just turned off roughly 90% of you.

Oh, and I absolutely cannot stand wearing suits or even nice, dressy stuff unless it's for a job interview or another extreme obligation (though will fight to the death to get out of wearing one). They're uncomfortable as hell and, more importantly, I don't feel like myself in such attire. More of a t-shirt and/or hoodie with a good pair of jeans/shorts guy. The shirts more than likely feature an old-timey band or a video game reference. There's goes another 5%. You girls can't click the Back button fast enough.

I've probably (read: definitely) visited some women's profiles multiple times. I have a tendency to forget who I've looked at already. I'm a forgetful bastard. We've all been there, amirite? You go to a page, stare at it for a bit before coming to the horrific realization that you've perused this person's page 19 times before. Then you start panicking and wonder if they'll label you a creeper and file a restraining order on you or something. Dating sites are tough.

I guess the last thing I should mention is that I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs - never have, never will. That shouldn't be a big deal, and I have no problem if you drink (responsibly) but, smoking/drugs are a no-go.

And yes, my photo is pretty sweet. I mean, look at that hat!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working full-time as a club attendant at a semi-posh 55+ community tolerating grumpy, entitled old people. Outside of that. I'm a freelance associate editor for a small video game news site. I know what you're thinking, and I concur; that is the coolest job ever.

My career goal is to become a full-time (and, most importantly, paid) video game journalist. Besides being an awesome job in general, getting paid to play and write about video games is the only time in life you ever feel like you've beaten the system. Currently trying to land an internship at Game Informer magazine.

I also frequent the gym, enjoy outdoor activities, and plan to dabble in other projects/interests, which including writing a novel and learning to play guitar.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, playing video games, (that's probably not a skill, but whatever), public speaking (gasp!), and being absolutely ridiculous.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Someone said I look like the protagonist of 12 Years A Slave and another woman said she'd kill for my eyelashes. We'll go with those for lack of anything else.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Besides reading as many video game books as possible, I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, as well as a selection of classics such as Les Miserables, Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, and way too many other books to list. Oh, and comic books/graphic novels.

Movies: We could spend an entire date discussing films (hint, hint), but some of my favorites are Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Die Hard, Dirty Harry, Spider-Man 2, The Avengers, and a boatload more.

TV: WWE Raw/Smackdown/NXT, Game of Thrones, Daredevil, South Park, Breaking Bad, 90's era Simpson's, Arrested Development, The Office (US), The Boondocks, Robot Chicken, and numerous cartoons and anime. Don't watch much live TV as the unstoppable tandem of the WWE Network and Netflix conquers cable.

Music: : I'm all over the place, but I'm a huge fan of classic rock and REAL hip-hop - as in with actual lyricism, talent, and substance. I also love alternative rock, grunge, metal, some pop/R&B, and the Peanuts theme song. Charles Mingus FTW.

Food There's very little I don't eat and I'm a pretty adventurous eater. I have a huge sweet tooth; a certifiable chocoholic. I also LOVE vegetables, which probably helps keep the potential fatness of my sugar rush at bay.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Oxygen:How this wouldn't be anyone's first answer, I'll never know.

2. Food: Turns out it's pretty tasty. Also, if you don't eat enough of it, you'll, like, totally die or something.

3. Shelter: Keeps the rain and cold out; and in sunny south Florida, "cold" equates to roughly 60 degrees. Also keeps out the cray-crays. Mostly.

4. Video Games: It's my passion and livelihood, so a world without them is a scary thing indeed.

5. Wrestling I can't stand missing even a single episode of Raw/Smackdown so Lord (Alfred Hayes) knows what I'd do without it entirely. And if you got that little reference, you're already on my good side.

6. Books: Reading is fundamental, folks.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, and a medley of completely random/ridiculous/hilarious/absurd and down-right off-the-wall thoughts. I have an extremely active imagination.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm not out with my friends engaging in all manner of nerdy tomfoolery, I'm usually enjoying a low-key evening at home. That tends to involve playing video games, reading, or writing. I'm not much of a party guy or into the nightlife - I'll take a small game night with good friends over insane nights at a club any day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
So get this, I once accidentally struck an elderly man with an ATV once. Don't worry, he lived - for about three years. THEN he died, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't my fault. He just broke his leg or something in that accident, so there's no way that I could have had a hand in his demise.

I mean, he was pretty damn old so he was living on borrowed time to begin with. Now that I think about it, the rush and excitement of the whole incident probably made him feel more alive than he had been in centuries, so I, in all likelihood, EXTENDED his lifespan more than anything - totally.

So about that date? Wait, I just lost the last 5% of potential dates? Well f**k me.
