I am fun, easy going, and friendly.

My Self-Summary

I'm currently a full-time student at the Culinary Institute of America studying Culinary Arts. I really love what I do and I'm excited about the choice that I've made for my career. I also work part time at the mall...not a glamorous job or a job in my field, but it's mindless and pays. haha.

I'm from Maryland originally, but I've moved to New York for school. Since being up here I have developed a fantastic group of friends that I refer to as my New York Family. It has been amazing to have people in my life like that for support, laughs, friendship, and drinking buddies.

At the heart of it all, I am a foodie. I'm all about supporting what's local, fresh, and of course, delicious. And what are the 3 main ingredients in French cooking? Butter, butter, and butter. I love to cook good food with friends and family as well as for my career. I worry about how much corn we continuously ingest without really considering it.

I've been studying wine for awhile now, and I really enjoy that as well. It's a part of my everyday life, and something that I hope to continue to keep as a large part of my career and life. It is what I eventually want to go into for a specialty.

My family is also important to me. I'm the youngest of 3 siblings (well, 5 if you consider my siblings-in-law as siblings...which I do.) My parents are still married and I'm very close to my mom.

I love to read, play Scrabble, do crosswords, watch movies with friends, go out to the bar, smoke hookahs, and just have a great time. I love music and I have a strangely ecclectic taste. I have a weakness for German cars.

I have 2 tattoos, but you can't see them in any of my photos. One of them is on my foot and the other is on my shoulder. I intend to get a few more.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, I guess I sort of covered that in the section above, but I'll reitterate it by saying that I am a full-time student at the C.I.A. in Hyde Park

My plan after graduation is to embark on a career in the wine industry.

I’m really good at

just about anything I put my mind to...unless it involves serious eye-hand coordination, like video games. Anything past Super Nintendo is totally lost on me.

I'm also really good at being there for my friends. Everyone keeps trying to convince me to drop out of culinary school and go to school to be a therapist or a life coach. I'm one of those strange people who actually enjoys helping to take care of the people they care about in whatever way they can.

The first things people usually notice about me

Wow...that's a tough one. I guess it's probably my smile. I usually have a big smile on my face because I'm usually in a good mood. I'm one of those obnoxiously cheery people on a Monday morning, but you'll have to let me know.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Ok, and the tough ones keep on coming...

Books: A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, To Kill a Mockingbird, Good in Bed, Wicked, Wines of the World, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Cunt: A Declaration of Independence, Schindler's List, The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell

Movies: Casablanca, Sabrina (the one with Audrey Hepburn), Flakes, Beaches (I know, it's typically girly...but it's my go-to movie when I'm horribly upset), The Wizard of Oz, Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, anything Monty Python, anything by Kevin Smith....and the list goes on...

Music: Jack Johnson, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Blink 182, Weezer, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, 3OH!3, Taylor Swift, State of Shock, Shinedown, The Beach Boys, Michael Buble...you name it, I probably like it...except for hard core "gangsta" rap or that whole "scream-o" situation, just not my thing.

Ok, the food question isn't even fair...I have far too many things that I love. It all depends on my mood...

The six things I could never do without

1. My friends
2. My dog
3. My Blackberry
4. My knives
5. Wine
6. My family

On a typical Friday night I am

hanging out with my friends. We're all usually together at least 4-5 nights a week. Friday is usually our night to put on a movie or old episodes of South Park that we really don't pay attention to, have some beers, and talk all night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am terrified of motorcycles. My high school boyfriend was horribly injured in a motorcycle accident and never really fully recovered. Not to mention that my dad was a trauma surgeon while I was growing up and so I would get the horror stories about the crashes and the people he had to take care of who ultimately met tragic fates.
So, how does this apply to you? Well, I won't be one of those girls who thinks pictures of guys riding crotch rockets up on one wheel is hot. In fact, that would be an enormous turn off. That's not to say that I won't date someone who rides motorcycles (obviously I did once before), it's just to say that I really dislike people who do idiot maneuvers on them (like riding down the NJ Turnpike in the middle of the rain, speeding like hell, dodging in and out of traffic...and yes, I've seen it happen.)

You should message me if

you like to go out and have a good time.
you are passionate about life and the things you love.
you like to have new experiences and meet new people.
you like good music.
you don't have harsh prejudices about people.
you aren't just looking for a one-time hook-up. That's just really not my thing. Gave it a shot a few times and it only ended badly. I'm looking to be friends and maybe more.
