I am imaginative, dedicated, and a dreamer.

My Self-Summary

I am many things, but, most of all, I am a writer. I've been writing for over six years and it's become a major part of my life. Somehow, over the years, I've managed to mold my brain into this intricate plotting machine that just chugs out ideas that demand to be written down. It's a passion that I couldn't imagine my life without.

Music is another love of mine. There's something about the right song at the right moment that just makes life seem complete. I like to think I have a diverse taste in music, but I suppose others would debate that. The Birthday Massacre is hands down my favorite band. If you've never heard of them, go check them out. They are like nothing other.

I'm at that stage in my life where I'm looking for meaning. What does the universe have in store for me? Where do I fit into the grand scheme of things? Why do my characters always rebel against me?! Ok, that last one isn't quite valid...but important 42% of the time...I swear. Mainly I want to know that my life has a meaning, that I'm here for a reason.

Let's see...I'm a semi-vegan. Yes, there is such a thing. I'm too vegan to be vegetarian but too vegetarian to be vegan. I bounce back and forth, though someday I'll go back to being completely vegan. It's weird, really.

What I’m doing with my life

My life seems to be constantly changing, but I think I'm finally going where I want to go. I have a degree in elementary education from NIU, and, having taught for a year, I've decided that teaching is not my thing. After a series of what I like to believe are fated events, and about four months of job searching, I took up a position as a rehab tech in an outpatient orthopedic center. Who knew that I would love physical therapy? I'm currently going back to school for my associates in PTA (physical therapy assisting). It's both exciting and scary. I've also just recently made it official that I'm a freelance writer. Yes, that means I can truly afford that weekly trip to Starbucks without a guilt trip.

I’m really good at

Writing (this is a given), procrastinating (unfortunately), cooking, baking, making people laugh, making myself laugh (it's true), relating to people, and the occasional bout of drawing I find myself indulging in every now and then. Oh, and playing the piano. I've been amazing myself at the stuff I can play.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm not too sure...though I think it would be my eyes...or my smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - Harry Potter, anything by Diana Gabaldon or James Patterson, the Mortal Instruments trilogy by Cassandra Clare

Movies - Anything that entertains me.

Music - The past few years my taste in music had broadened. I listen to everything from Apocolyptica, Within Temptation, and The Birthday Massacre to Imogen Heap, Michelle Branch, and Julia Nunes

Food - Soy is amazing...as long as it's not soy milk. I think it's gross. However, soy yogurt is superior to dairy yogurt...as long as we're talking about Whole Soy. Silk just is sub-par but still edible. Avocados are amazing...especially when made into guacamole. Pizza is divine as are grape tomatoes that are just pulled off the vine. I've got a sweet tooth the size of Texas.

The six things I could never do without

1. My muse
2. Family
3. Friends
4. My job (especially with where the economy is going)
5. A good book
6. My computer...with internet (would that be 7 things then?)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Anything and everything I'm writing or have written or could possibly write, where the world and our country are going, how I'm going to pay for school, and November (November=NaNoWriMo).

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually I'm writing and talking to friends online.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've had a few accounts here on okcupid...but I keep deleting them for some reason. I wish I'd stop doing that.

I'm not perfect, I know that, and I'm ok with that...most days.

You should message me if

...you think asparagus is yucky.
