My self-summary
I'll ramble if you let me, so I'll keep this short...

Wild, witchy, tattooed burner chick seeking similar.
I have seen the lost episode of Lassie where Timmy gets irradiated.
I want to go volcano surfing.
I paint. I write. People pay me to do this.
I am aggressive and competitive to a fault, but I'm actually a very good loser.
I am the terror that flaps in the night.
I really, really like burn festivals. Like, a lot. I love hooping, and I can spin poi (kind of).
Lisa Loeb and I once had a Twitter conversation (it was about yogurt).
Sometimes I write things just for fun.
I was a traveling performer for ten years, but you'll probably never guess what I did.
I could recite almost all of "The Conqueror Worm" as a child because of Reasons.
What I’m doing with my life
Professional cautionary tale.

I dedicated entirely too much of my time to learning to do something that I later realized I hated... So I'm not quite where I want to be in life yet, but I'm damn close. I write, draw, and paint for a living, and have the freedom and flexibility to spend my time working on the things that are really important to me. It kind of rocks, and has given me the chance to know and work with some of the coolest people in this arm of the galaxy.

At the moment, I am also a research subject for a very rare and bizarre neurological condition. I can't say that it's something I'm enjoying, but I'm hoping it'll lead to better diagnoses and more treatment options for people like me in the future. Right now, our options are mostly limited to taking really terrible drugs or becoming very unexciting cyborgs. I would like to see that change.
I’m really good at
Color theory.
Finding neat, obscure music.
Dancing like nobody's watching.
Singing like nobody's listening.
Growing huge, mutant vegetables.
Hand-drumming like something from Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
The first things people usually notice about me
Everyone says this about themselves, but my eyes. They're yellow and blue. Except for the days when they're orange and gray. Or the days when they're green. I get asked if I'm wearing contacts a lot.

If I'm not facing someone at the time, they probably notice my tattoos. I also like to wear some interesting statement jewelry, and I've had strangers comment on it before.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Weird horror, bizarro fiction, and history. I seem to get the most "mileage" out of books on history or paganism, since I can't really re-read fiction quite the same way that I can re-read them.
House of Leaves, Anansi Boys, American Gods, A History of Pagan Europe, biographies of historical figures (especially the Renaissance to French Revolutionary period), Stephen King's Dark Tower series, Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, Schroedinger's Cat/The Illuminatus Trilogy, The Rampaging Fuckers of Everything of the Shit Planet of the Vomit Atmosphere.

Movies: Usually surreal fantasy, or some sci-fi.
Pan's Labyrinth, Cube, Snatch, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, I <3 Huckabees, Super Troopers, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou, The Adventures of the Baron Von Munchausen, Brazil, Time Bandits, Mirrormask. I don't do girly movies, and I'm a complete horror wuss.

Music: Almost all of it. Especially songs that make me want to flip a car. I don't really do love songs, but lyrical dissonance is a huge plus.
Tom Waits, Korpiklaani, Ali Farka Toure, William Elliot Whitmore, Ani DiFranco, Svarga, Joseph-Maurice Ravel, Dire Straits, Le Vent Du Nord, Tegan and Sara, Jesca Hoop, Corvus Corax, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Skindred, Chris Smither, Guy Davis, Dead Can Dance, Afro Celt Sound System, Dispatch/State Radio, Dropkick Murphys, KMFDM, Marilyn Manson, O.A.R., Rammstein, The Pogues, Our Lady Peace, Darrin James Band, Zazie, Dobacaracol, Finntroll, Louise Attaque, Monster Magnet, Paul Simon, Beenie Man, The Zydepunks, Suzanne Vega, Beau Jocque and the Zydeco Hi-Rollers, baby.

Food: I'm still trying to figure out how to get food that's simultaneously low sodium, low tyramine, low fat, low glycemic, low vitamin A, and high potassium, on account of Circumstances. I have mostly narrowed it down to yams.
The six things I could never do without
- My Blue Heeler mix, Murphy Monsterdog.
- The color gray.
- My drum.
- My hoop.
- Music.
- A flat surface and a way to mark it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Pygmy goats.
Why there aren't any cilantro-flavored cheeses.
Why people who are deathly allergic to water can still drink soda.
Gardening.
Color theory.

If I didn't have the attention span of a fruit fly and actually devoted half of the the time I spend daydreaming to doing productive things, I'd probably have my own island nation by now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Writing or painting. My schedule doesn't give me much time away from home for any reason, but I've learned to make the most of the time I spend here!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know considerably less about driving a car than I do about herding caribou, I'm scared of being alone in dark rooms, and thinking about the texture of dry teatowels makes me feel kind of throw-uppy.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 25–32
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You're looking for a penpal. My treatment leaves me with almost no energy to do things, and I'm currently living in an area where I don't really know anyone other than my SO. Having more people to talk to would be neato, even if I'm unable to meet up for the time being.

Also, I stalk profiles at random out of boredom sometimes. If I show up on yours, it's probably because you're pretty. Or have some wild shit going on in the back of your picture. Or I'm trying to figure out what your tattoo is of. Or I think you might be someone I know.

So, message me if:

You're looking for a like-minded malcontent with a propensity for crazy adventures.
You want to go volcano surfing.
You have an interest in pagan traditions or spirituality, or think we might have something to learn from each other.
You've decided that knowing someone with a tent, a campfire grill, a firesteel, water purification tablets, and the ability to use them might be helpful during any number of apocalyptic scenarios.
You just feel like it. G'head, I'm friendly... besides, I've run out of space to hide bodies.
