Oh, you meant practical talents? Well, I'm a decent cook,
very good with cobbling together unconventional flavors. I'm rather
fond of(and good with) a pencil, but we'll see how that evolves
once my fingers heal.
Oh... I'm a MASTER at undressing you with my eyes!
Hahahahahahahahahaah!
Lessee, movies... There've a lot of relatively recent releases that
captured my heart(and by recent, I mean in the last decade).
Payback,
Lucky#Slevin, American Gangster,
Sunshine, and
Fight Club
comprise the quintet of my all-time favorites. Other greats include
Collateral, The Boondock Saints (Sequel is coming!!!) and REPO! The
Genetic Opera (a new favorite).
District 9 was amazing. I don't know how well it did in theaters,
but not well enough I'll wager. Surrogates was pretty fun, as was
Where the Wild Things Are.
My taste in books is far more selective, mostly because I don't read as much as I used to.
Madeline L'Engle's Time Quartet, Orson Scott Cards "The Lost
Boys," J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, Niccolo Macchiavelli's
"The Prince." I'm also enjoying W.E.B. DuBois' "The Souls of Black
Folk," Sun Tzu's "The Art of War," and about three others,
simultaneously. I might be an A.D.D. case.
I consider comics to be just as important as conventional prose,
and also enjoy various Alan Moore works(arguably the greatest comic
writer ever), in "Watchmen" and "V for Vendetta", Grant
Morrison(whose run on "New X-Men" was ahead of it's time),
with "All-Star Superman". Mark Millar("Civil War," "Wanted"), and
Garth Ennis("Preacher"). I'm also looking forward to collecting
Kevin' Smith's run on Daredevil. Another great comic(but less
comic-like than the others), is "Incognegro," a good story no man
or woman of African descent should pass up. I've recently fallen in
love with Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series, and am looking forward
to picking up "American Gods."
There isn't much I won't listen to, except country. Even then there are scant exceptions.
Garbage, Incubus, Fall Out Boy, Maroon 5, Alanis Morissette, Bone thugs N Harmony, Tupac, Eminem (Marshall Mathers LP and earlier, he lost his appeal as he blew up), Massive Attack, Bach, Beethoven. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that get most play.
I've a paralyzing fear of rejection.
