First things first - Games are my preferred medium for
entertainment and self-discovery. I think I need to say that
upfront because I tend to feel it influences my other choices on
these lists (my gravitation towards anime / animated content and my
music choices tending to derive from both thereof). That's not to
say I wont read, but my purpose for reading tends to be influenced
by wanting to learn above other purposes. With that said - here's
Book - On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee or perhaps Mogworld by
Yahtzee Croshaw. Plenty of Gastronomy Books on my shelf and the
Harry Potter series. The next real book on my list is The Hero with
a Thousand Faces, which I'll get to soon.
Movie - The South Park Movie - it's the only movie that always
cheers me up no matter how often i've seen it. Otherwise anything
animated tends to make me smile ( much love for anything Ghibli or
Pixar). I'll watch (and likely enjoy) mostly anything that wouldn't
be classified as horror though.
shows - Boondocks, Archer, South Park, Yakitate!! Japan, Lucky
Star, Venture bros., Scrubs, Seinfeld, etc. Once more, animated
shows catch eye easier, but I'm easily entertained.
Music - most of my music collection comes from videogames, anime /
shows, or just make me laugh. For the most part I'm not a fan of
rap, R&B, and country. But the genre doesnt really matter - If
I like a song I like it, and I have exceptions to the above in my
collection. I think it's just easier to post the following 3 links
and say its a rough representation of my collection.
Hasa Diga Ebowai
(I adore matt stone and trey
Mulan's I'll make a man out of you
not. IT MAKES ME FEEL MANLY.
food - Everything. I'm an Omnivore. If I have to name a favorite
It'd be between a good skirt steak or a hot bowl of miso
Games - The World Ends With You is by a notable margin my favorite
game of all time. One of the few games where i feel they did so
much right (story, music, mechanics, art, writing, etc).
Earthbound, Bastion, Psychonauts, portal and Bioshock are high up
on my list too. I absolutely adore To The Moon but I have trouble
calling it a game. It's an interactive story and I cherish it,
but...it's not a game. Worth a look if you have 4 hours to spend. I
also have a long history with pokemon and play LoL fairly
frequently and watch SC2 matches occasionally.
