My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a fun and funny lady who has a great life for which I am so very grateful. I have a wonderful family and friends. Being child-free, I have a lot of freedom. Some of my favorite places include the Yuba River, the Sierra Nevadas, Hawaii, Disneyland, New Mexico and the roller rink. I do love to skate, with the disco ball and the lights. I miss spinning at Grateful Dead shows. I certainly haven't danced nearly enough since those good old days. I am easily distracted by shiny objects and sparkly lights (not to mention rainbows, unicorns, and the like). I am fascinated by sharks (especially Great Whites) and although I very rarely swim in the ocean, I do love a lot of sea life, like manatees (got to swim with them!), seals, otters, and dolphins (especially spinners), but most of all I LOVE sea turtles. I tend to be a homebody. I enjoy yoga on a regular basis. I love being awestruck by the beauty of the sky - lightning storms, crescent and full moon, sun rise and set, bright planets and shooting stars. I am totally in love with my niece and nephew (and, now, puppy-niece!!) and love to spend time with them.

I own my own home and am looking for someone who is financially independent as well. I consider myself to be extremely liberal, but generally avoid news media.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm mostly simply enjoying and savoring my life, spending time with loved ones, and taking it easy. I have a great job that I love and work hard at and I also love my free time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making people laugh, my job, math, procrastinating, and chillin'.

Movies and music - so much to narrow down!! I really like watching movies. Some of my favorites include Wes Anderson films, Baz Luhrmann's Red Curtain Trilogy, Harold and Maude, GoodFellas, Bridesmaids, Wall-E, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Last Waltz, The Polar Express, Little Miss Sunshine. And then, of course, who doesn't enjoy watching Jason Statham.

Music - Grateful Dead (Grateful Dead Day at the Giants!), The Band, Olivia Newton-John, Joan Armatrading, Freakwater, Belle and Sebastian, OMD, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, The Beatles, Van Morrison, Kate Bush, Dolly Parton, Jonathan Richman, 70s, 80s, yacht rock, slow jams, slide guitar, slide whistle, bells and chimes, cowbell, shaky eggs, dramatic music, including super sappy and high-angst love ballads, Also Sprach Zarathustra, soundtracks, and much, much more.

I've read quite a lot in my life both in and out of school but have not lately found any books that really pull me in, so I'm currently in the middle of about five different books and not actively reading any of them! Looking forward to coming across a book that I can't put down. Suggestions, please? -UPDATE: currently reading World War Z and loving it! Yay! I really enjoyed the movie as well, but am really digging the differences of the book, the perspectives the story is told from, and some really good writing! -UPDATE #2: have had a chance to read a bit more lately. LOVED The Girl On The Train. First book that I read in 2 days since I can remember. Currently almost done with The Goldfinch. Pretty amazed by it, the writing especially. Also listening to book 2 of The Strain series. Liked the first better, especially that it was so excellently narrated by Ron Perlman!

Shows: Parks and Rec, Family Guy/American Dad/Cleveland Show, Simpsons, Girls, Archer, Bob's Burgers, New Girl, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Louie, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Office, Reno 911!, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, SNL, America's Funniest Videos, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Homeland, The Killing, The Following, Supernatural, Walking Dead, Masters of Sex!

There are many songs to which I like to sing along when I'm driving, really belt it out good. Love it. Also I love to be cracked up and to crack myself up and do so often.
