Your Notes
Edit your notesI am literate, lackadaisical, and lugubrious.
My Self-Summary
I'm a sucker for a scathing, razor-sharp wit, intelligence and biting sarcasm. Freckles, uncontrollable masses of curly hair, and dimples of Venus make me weak.
What I’m doing with my life
Very cliche and boring, I know.
You can also find me saving the occasional injured gray screech owl at least once in my life...
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'm particularly fond of the written work of Ernest Hemmingway and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Most of the reading I do these days is limited to design magazines and trade journals of various types. I just finished "The World Without Us" by Alan Weisman and it's insanely fascinating. You should read it! I'm done pouring through "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. I remember the short story of the same name [included in this compilation] from undergrad and how amazing it was and now I'm finding it hard to put this one down. Boom. Down. Nothing else... I just finished "Sharp Teeth" by Toby Barlow--amazing book! I've just started "The Option of Urbanism" by Christopher Leinberger. It's not your typical coffee table book, but I'm all about design, urbanism and human landscapes. Read 'The Road.' Probably one of the best books I've ever read. The first full paragraph of page 281 made me cry like an effeminate little school girl.
I love movies & film. I usually avoid the girlish cutesy schlock and over-the-top gorefests though. And I despise (and by "despise," I mean "hate with every fiber of my being") the brutalism of many French films. The rest--indies, blockbusters, sci-fi, documentaries, cult-classics, etc.--are fair game though. Snatch, Special, Tremors, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (all four versions, but especially Kaufman's 1978 version), The Departed, Moulin Rouge, Primer, Pi, LOST, UP, Step Into Liquid, Blade Runner, anything by Wes Anderson, etc.
As for music, everything's fair game. Except popular country and hardcore gangster rap. I have zero tolerance for that crap. The major 'scenes' I've been through were the Detroit electronic scene [very briefly], indie bands in the Triangle of North Carolina and the whole Saddle Creek scene. Have a fondness for Canadian bands. Metric is supremely top notch. I've seen them over half a dozen times and have had the pleasure of stroking Emmily Hanes' hair during an act and giving her a high-five right after.
And I also love food and cooking. Any kind, really. I make the best salsa you'll ever eat though. I love cooking out on the grill.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
You find the idea of bringing slow, long suffering agony to people like Frank Gehry, Fred Kent or Leon Krier (I'm kidding, but only because it'd be illegal to be otherwise...).
Other than that, I don't believe I should give you the answer to this one. You tell me.
