Born in NY and lived in NJ, FL and TX, I moved to NC four years ago and absolutely love it here. I have a job I adore, which I'm planning on staying in, until I retire or drop dead, whichever may come first. ( Life is good, I'm holding out for retirement)
I'm a hopeful but realistic romantic. Unconventional in my conventions and even I admit, I'm a bit too easily amused by the absurdities of everyday life. I still think the glass is not only half full but should be raised in a toast every day that you're lucky enough to wake up.
I'll never drag you to a mall ( Probably because I abhor them as well). By the same token, unless we're under attack by zombies or aliens, I'm not inclined to drag out my survival skills ( aka hunting, fishing or camping), so you're on your own there. I do love the outdoors though. Sports quite simply, rock. I've never seen a roller coaster that I wouldn't ride (but hate the emotional kind). Drama belongs in the theatre. (I do miss Broadway) but there are great venues here and some great museums. It would be nice to share that with someone.
I don't care if you drive a Jaguar or a Jetta. Money and job titles don't impress me. A good sense of humor, intelligence and honesty do.
I admit to having Eric Brockovich moments of righteous indignation when confronted with injustice and inequality.( I'm not part of the occupy movement but have been on a sit in or two and picketed when necessary) I volunteer with local charities. Despite all of the above, my sense of humor is always in play and not always as PC as it should be.
I'm very outgoing, almost always upbeat, independent, honest and loyal.(and absolutely over writing this.) The last line could be describing a German Shepherd. Oh yeah ...I have a few of those and yes, they are rescues.

Books - I'm an avid reader who'll read anything with print, but prefer fiction thrillers and action along the lines of Patterson, Evanovich, Dan Brown and Cornwell but also read non-fiction, leaning towards biographies.
Movies - Too many favorites to name, but prefer the action, thriler and comedy genre's. I also have a weakness for the " graphic novel" and "comic book" movies and zombie flicks. ( OK, I'm a geek) but really have no liking for sappy chick flicks. I love the classics such as Casablanca, Rebel without a Cause and Hitchcock's works.
Music is a part of my life daily. I listen to most rock, some classical, celtic, old blues and show tunes but I have to admit techno and rap are not really for me. Some favorites are Springsteen, The Who, Train, Nicole Atkins, Nickleback, The Beatles, Bach,Raconteurs, Decemberists, Lyle Lovitt, and the list goes on.
Shows - CNN, A&E, Louis, Rescue me, CSI NY, Law and Order- SVU, Two Broke Girls,Wilfred, The Ex's, Men at Work, The Big Bang Theory ( Another geek moment)
Food - If it had a face and a pulse at some time, I'm in. Seriously though, all types of cuisine are fine. French to Fusion, it's all good.

Music, Books, Sunshine,Laughter Friends, Family,My Dogs and since I don't give a rat's hairy behind about the rules, I know that's more than six. Amazingly I could live without my Droid since I'd have to add electricity to the list as well, which would require adding Duke energy...lol.
