My self-summary Propose an edit
At the risk of presenting a laundry list of what I am...here's a
bit about me...
I am an intelligent woman who has a wide range of interests.
I am a voracious reader, I love watching all sorts of movies, and I
enjoy nature.
I am an environmentalist. I recycle and pay close attention to how
I treat the earth.
I am a big fan of John Mayer and would love to find someone who has
the same level of admiration for him.
I have a few close friends whose company I enjoy, but I also like
attending small parties and discussing ideas and politics with
different personalities.
I am a writer. I write blogs that reflect my life and thoughts. I
also write poetry on occasion. I would like to eventually make a
living by writing fiction.
I'm not a religious person, but I am open to almost any type of
religion as long as the person doesn't try to force it on me. I
respect all types of life and strongly disapprove of any prejudice
including jokes that may seem harmless to the person telling it.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
staying at home taking care of my baby...yeah, that's pretty much
an all day thing...
I'm really good at Propose an edit
a lot of things. If I find something challenging, I usually work
until I master it.
I think I'm a fairly decent writer; I've had compliments on my
blogs.
I can knit, crochet, cross-stitch (all the cute girly
things.)
Personality-wise, I'm really good at listening and giving people
the benefit of the doubt. I'm good at treating a person fairly, and
I think I'm pretty good at putting a person at ease. No need to
pretend with me; I tend to appreciate your good qualities while
allowing that everyone has his faults.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I think the comment I've heard the most is that people tend to
notice that I'm quiet and seem shy. I am quiet when I don't know a
person, but that's generally because I'm checking out the situation
and determining how best to go about starting a conversation. But
once I start, you'll find I'm a fairly good conversationalist : )
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I have several favorites of all of the above, but to keep it
simple, I'll just list three of each (we can discuss more in person
: )
Books:
*the Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster (technically this is a
children's book, but you'd be amazed at how deep a children's book
can be)
*Skinny Legs and All by Tom Robbins (incredible scene at the end
explaining the meaning of life)
*Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stobbard (technically
a play, but once again, chock-full of interesting philosophical
insights)
Movies:
*the Wedding Singer (all time favorite, a goofy romantic comedy,
but I love it because it's every girl's dream to have a song
written for her : )
*Clue (it always amazes me when someone hasn't seen this movie
considering my siblings and I grew up on it and know every single
line by heart - "to make a long story short" "too late")
*Lost in Translation (this is probably the most real and true to
life movie I've ever seen)
Music:
*John Mayer (There are only a few artists whose entire library can
be considered as a favorite...he's one)
*Jill Sobule (she's the other)
*a few mix CD's I named "Songs I Don't Skip Over Vol One & Two"
(meaning my iPod was sick of playing these) on which you'll find
such masterpieces as "Superman" - Five for Fighting, "Stay" -
Shakespeare's Sister, "Postal Blowfish" - Guided By Voices, "Near
You Always" - Jewel, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful
World" - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, "Hey Ya" - Outkast, "Let It Be Me"
- Indigo Girls, & "I Believe" - Blessid Union of Souls
Food:
*salmon
*Chinese
*Mexican
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
my children (They're my everything, and I miss them terribly when
I'm not with them)
my cell phone (I can't stand not being available)
John Mayer's music (I have a long complicated explanation to this :
)
my library (I tend to reread my favorite books until I know them by
heart)
my friends (Corny, I know)
honesty (Life's too short to play games)
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
how to fix the things about myself that bug me
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
geeking it up by chatting with my online friends on a Myspace page
devoted to John Mayer and his music
(well, you asked)
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I have John Mayer playing cards (and I can kick your ass with them
at Texas Hold'em)
You should message me if Propose an edit
you don't have a problem with a woman who already has children who
take up a lot of her time
you don't mind getting to know me slowly before asking for my phone
number
you don't mind talking with a woman whose life might seem chaotic
at first glance but is only chaotic on an interesting level
