My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have a sarcastic and dry sense of humor. Old people say that I remind them of Bob Newhart, whoever that is.

I moved to Salt Lake a few years ago. It seems like an ok place although I wonder how many tumors I'm getting from this smog that fills up the valley.

No kids, no ex-wife, haven't been to prison or rehab. It's weird to say this being 37 and living in Utah...

I like to hike. Not big ones necessarily just day hikes or ones that take a few hours after work.

I found a chihuahua in the snow one winter, I never found the owners, he likes to hike too. He is the coolest, least-yappy chihuahua you will ever meet.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My job can be stressful and require 50 hour weeks sometimes but most of the time it is pretty laid back and I love what I do. I go running and swimming when I'm not too lazy. I have a car but I like to ride my bike as much as possible in the summer. I'm always down to run a race. I like to go to concerts, festivals and movies. I just bought a house so I spend a lot of time working on it, planning the next project or zen gardening. It's a constant struggle against the forces of entropy. Thinking about going to graduate school but the pains of homework are still a bit too fresh in my mind.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Chillin. Cooking. Lifting heavy things. Crisis management. Battling aphids.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

All food, especially anything Asian/Mediterranean. Not so much Italian/French.

I'll watch about any movie but most of them seem formulaic. Primer was pretty good. Dawn of the Dead is my favorite zombie movie (right next to Shawn of the Dead for favorite zombie-comedy). French-mystery/action-thrillers. Castaway on the Moon. Tarantino, Guillermo.

Some of my all time favorite bands are Bloc Party, The Decemberists, Kaiser Chiefs, Interpol, The Stars, The Weepies, The Smiths, The Cure, Bon Iver, Death Cab, Broken Social Scene, The National, Empire of the Sun, Beach House, Lykke Li and El Perro Del Mar... Mother Mother and Little Green Cars lately.

I read a lot, usually the thicker the better since I go through them so fast I need to get my money's worth. Used to be a lot of horror, sic-fi and fantasy: G.R.R. Martin, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jim Butcher, Anne Rice, Simon Greene, Robert Jordon. Tom Clancy is good too, they don't come much thicker than that. Lately I have been reading murder mysteries, Val McDermid, Tara French. Also the occasional taoist, buddhist, economic, science, self-help or fitness book. Right now I am reading The Historian, seems like it will be a good time. After that, 100 years of solitude.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'm pretty Zen so I can or can't do with or without any number of things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How many box gardens are too many box gardens?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If the weather is nice biking or walking downtown for drinks or dinner. If not, cooking and bingeing on some tv series. I'm not above trying to start a dance party with two people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Generally I don't like to eat at places where bistro is part of the name.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you really love to weed a lawn. You would like to bike to the Twilight Concert Series or would like to make walktails and go to gallery stroll. If you are a morning person and like to go running or hiking. If you are currently trying to archive all of Netflix in your brain. If you want to visit some far away places.
