Ah, I always love these self-summary things because I always have to think about what to say in them. So here goes: Hey, I'm Iris. I'm just a brown-eyed, dark brown-haired, 27 year old biracial young girl trying to make sense of my life. I am a quiet and shy girl. A total introvert. Professional dreamer. Dreams of becoming a writer. But I'm also an angry young girl who curses up a storm, but if you saw me personally, you would think I was the sweetest thing in the whole wide world. I get mistaken for being just a shy, sweet girl because I'm so good at keeping up my facade. I'm not saying that I'm not shy and sweet, because I am. It's just that I have another side to me, lovingly named Hurricane Iris, and most people are unaware of this. Piss me off and Hurricane Iris comes out to play/wreak havoc.

A little more on me: A complete dork. Supersensitive. Not too trusting of others. But is learning to trust. Laughs and smiles a lot. Also puts on a facade among certain people. Super organized. Perfectionist. Has a fetish for hands and fingers. Suffers from Major Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to what happened almost four years ago. Still very much a mess from issues. But also is a survivor.

Currently back at the community college I began my college career at, taking journalism classes, after taking a year off after graduating from UC Davis with a Bachelor's in English. Also currently dealing with issues from childhood and from three years ago. Therapy is my weapon of choice for dealing with those issues, although at certain times, I think it's a waste of time and I try to piss off my therapist enough to make him give up on me and drop me as a client.

I spend a majority of my days on this earth, taking one step forward and two steps back, sometimes two steps forward and one step back. I continually keep my guard up, keep my facade going, and at times, shut down. I have a hard time letting go of certain things (aka the past) that should just be left behind. I'm still learning to deal with certain matters and to not be so guarded and just be myself around people in my life. I still have a lot to learn, but I have learned to let loose a wee bit and just live life. I am currently happier these days than I have been in a very long time. Still watching my steps, though. The protective part of me will never leave me.

Also, currently spending a lot of time with a very special person in my life that I met here on OkCupid. Go figure, lol.

Laughing, smiling, singing, writing, procrastinating, hula hooping, shopping (duh!), listening, and a lot of other stuff I am forgetting at this very moment.
