My self-summary
Hey there! I'm Danielle. Here are some qualities that usually describe me...I'm an extroverted introvert, an optimist and a realist, feminine and self-sufficient. I value compassion, personal freedom, sincerity, knowledge, and true acts of love. I'm pretty non-judgmental though I've been known to talk a little shit. In general I aim to be at peace, and to live my life as though it is a work of art unfolding from moment to moment. I have a lot of passion and I try to do everything in a way that feels good, and am getting pretty good at it, too :)

I'm affectionate and usually light-hearted even though I think life is pretty much an epic battle and most of us would benefit from a revolution (inside and out) :)
I laugh and smile easily. I really appreciate trees and natural beauty in general, and yes, I have dreads, but I swear I am not a hippie! Actually, sometimes I'm not sure. Anyway, I enjoy hiking and camping, yoga and dancing, music and cooking good food, and a number of other things that will put me in a meditative state, like running in the greenbelt, which is one of my new favorite things!

I like to think of myself as an exceptionally rational person, but I try not to limit reason to the empirical, the obvious, or the comfortable, so some of my interests may seem strange. I'm a dabbler, pretty interested in most things at least for a little while; I read regularly, fiction and non-fiction, random internet searches, text or research relevant to my work. Besides having a general sense of curiosity and wonder about the nature of reality and life itself, I'm most interested in human potential and related subjects--psychology, interpersonal communication, metaphysics, holistic/alternative health, nutrition, science, religion, spirituality...also, I'm a massage therapist and am absolutely in love with my work. I'm currently building my private practice.

What I'm looking for in a partner...I believe that mutual physical attraction and chemistry are essential, but beyond that here are a list of adjectives that might be helpful :)
Honest, self-aware, positive-ish (I am no Debbie Downer, please don't be a Buzz Killington!), curious, affectionate, , expressive (I like to talk, but I also like to listen and learn!), self-sufficient, reasonable, kind, and authentic (as in capable of being your natural self)...I'd like to get to know someone who is content where they are, but understands that personal growth is essential to happiness and would like someone to grow with. If this sounds anything like you and you're interested, don't be afraid to message me!
What I’m doing with my life
I spend my days doing or thinking about any of the above. Right now I'm pretty focused on building my massage practice or finding new ways to help my clients--which means I am always researching and working out new techniques to increase my knowledge of the body. I've also been doing a lot of writing these days, more for blogging/marketing and free therapy than anything else, but I quietly hope there will be a book in there somewhere :)
I’m really good at
Adapting, philosophizing, sleeping, cooking, helping people feel better, relating, practical spirituality, giving massages (of course), following my heart
The first things people usually notice about me
Doesn't this depend on the observer? Fine! My dreads...or my sunny disposition ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Too many to begin to list. Anything enjoyable even if it's generally considered crap, anything that offers insight or practical knowledge.

Ok, I won't be so lazy, I'll offer a small slice...

Books: Currently reading the Psychology of the Body. I'm almost always reading something non-fiction, these days. But I love a good novel. Standard favorites: Atlas Shrugged, The Wheel of Time, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, almost anything Stephen King--especially It and the Stand. That man can write the shit out of an epic novel.

Movies: 40 Year-old Virgin, Eternal Sunshine, Death Proof, Tropic Thunder

Shows: Dexter, Supernatural, The Office, Arrested Development, Scandal

Music: Bonobo, Stevie Wonder, Tool, Fiona Apple, Theivery Corporation, Beyonce, and almost anything that will compel me to shake my ass. And, honestly, my ass is not that discerning :)

Food: Anything delicious and nutritious (this definitely includes meat, as far as I'm concerned) anything of the Asian persuasion, seafood, roasted turkey legs are heavenly...
The six things I could never do without
My family and close friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The nature of reality, the nature of myself, love, the art of happiness and spirituality (which I think are the same), expanding my private practice, how to help or at least accept and understand others, writing, fitness/healthy embodiment, sex, food...
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing whatever I want! This usually does not involve going downtown or anything of the sort since I work on Saturday mornings but otherwise if I'm an enticed with proper dance music and good company on any other night, there's a good chance I will be down, though there's also a good chance that I might prefer something more low-key Generally, I spend a good amount of time haunting coffee shops, writing and such :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am well-acquainted with my "dark side" and have a pretty harmonious relationship with it. That isn't private at all, just a random fact, but, whatever.
You should message me if
You are relationship oriented but are cool with the idea of just hanging out and seeing where thing go--premature expectations and commitments are, well, premature.

You understand the difference between a conversation and talking at someone!

You are generally content with yourself and are looking for an excuse to be more contented.

You understand the true nature of reality and want to teach me your ways ;)
