Most of my reading anymore is done online... I've considered
picking up a Kindle or something to make it more convenient to get
back into reading books though. When I do pick one up it's
generally a binge experience.
I used to read a good bit of fiction (before I got so active on the
internet)... Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels were often the category on
that. Really though... things like Cracked.com , news sites,
scientific journals, The Oatmeal... various webcomics and blogs...
etc. encompass most of my reading nowadays.
I like going to the movies on occasion, as well as lounging around
at home or with friends watching various things on Netflix...
Recently, I watched the new Star Wars and Iron Man movies and
enjoyed both. Instead of listing a pile of favorites... I'll list
Action, Romantic Comedies, Comedies in general, Horror (a good
B-rated flick can be a lot of fun especially), Sci-Fi, Fantasy,
Documentaries, Foreign films, Parody, Anime, Documentaries, Drama
of various sorts, Superhero, Historical fiction, Spy films,
Musicals, Art pieces, Psychological thrillers
Recently finished or caught up on: Doctor Who, Burn Notice, Weeds,
Breaking Bad, Ghost in the Shell: SAC (and 2nd Gig), Fullmetal
Alchemist, Archer (only what is on Netflix)
Currently watching/working on: The L Word (got turned onto it by a
friend a couple weeks ago, almost to the fourth season already
lol), Defiance (also playing the game), Lie to Me, The Boondocks,
The Venture Bros., It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Chrono
Notable favs not listed above: Torchwood, Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing,
Dragonball Z, Top Gear, The Green Wing, Scrubs, Family Guy, The
Simpsons, American Dad, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, SNL, Adventure
Time, Mythbusters, (again, tons of things I'm forgetting to list...
and a lot of anime)
I love music. Live for it. For the sake of my sanity, only going to
list a small fraction of what I'm into:
Daft Punk. I'm mentioning them first because if they ever go back
on tour, I will pay a pile of money and drive over 1000 miles if I
have to so I can see them live. Also, been listening to Random
Access Memories a good bit since it came out. A lot of people
weren't happy with it, but I love how they managed to put such a
diverse sound into an album like they did. Fantastic.
(And now just listing) Ladytron, Metric, Gorillaz, Die Antwoord,
The Rolling Stones, MGMT, Tegan and Sara, Borgore, Deadmau5, Black
Sabbath, Foo Fighters, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Benny Benassi, The Black
Keys, Knife Party, T.A.T.U., Steam Powered Giraffe, Beat Machine,
Volkstroker, Flux Pavilion, Bob Marley, Santana, Skrillex, Frank
Ocean, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Empire of the Sun, Calvin
Harris, Miike Snow, Michael Buble, Diplo, Frank Sinatra, BT, Armin
van Buuren, Linkin Park, Ferry Corsten, Pink Floyd, The Beatles,
1200 Mics, Infected Mushroom, The Grateful Dead, Ke$ha, Pink,
Justin Timberlake, Akon, FloRida, Shpongle, Pendulum, Evol Intent,
System of a Down, Journey, TLC, Cherub
(will stop there for now)
Sushi (Gotta start there), Mediterranean food, Indian, Italian,
Thai, Mexican, Vietnamese, Southern homestyle, Chinese, seafood,
Cajun, BBQ, breakfast foods...
I can prepare most of these varieties of food... I'm currently
trying to eat something more along the lines of a Mediterranean
influenced ova-lacto-pescetarian diet... but that is just for
overall health and I'm still open to eating pretty much anything.
