My Self-Summary

I am currently living in Owings Mills, for about 2 years now, after living on UMBC's campus for more years than I'd like to admit. Originally from New Jersey, I came down to Maryland for college, and now 9 years later I'm still here... and still at the same college (but a grad student for the past 4!). Having my own place now is pretty fun. I've enjoyed looking for and buying some furniture. And now I plan to decorate more this summer :)

I'm a Disney person. Been there so many times and it never gets old. I like feeling like a kid again. I love movies, and I love sports. My DVD collection must nearing the 300-range, and covers a wide variety of films. I'll watch just about anything. I bought Gone With the Wind the same time I bought War of the Worlds. Being from New Jersey, the sports team I follow are the NJ Devils, Yankees, and NY Giants. And I'll follow each of them through the good and bad.

I love smoothies. I enjoy movie previews just as much as the actual movie. What I really enjoy is making people laugh.

What I'm not really into is bars or clubs, as I rarely ever drink. That doesn't mean I won't go with friends and hang out, just that I prefer doing other things.

That covers the basics I think, and a lot of other stuff can be found in the rest of the profile.

Any questions just ask :)

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a graduate student at UMBC attempting to get a Master's in statistics. Since I'm only taking one class a semester, I also work at UMB (not UMBC, lol) for the School of Social Work doing research. I should be graduating this spring and that should finish that big step in my life.

I’m really good at

I have a good sense of humor. I've been told I should be on Whose Line is it Anyway? Not sure about that.

Also must have some kind of math/stat skills since I have a B.S. in stat and I'm going for more. Though that could just be very strong evidence of high pain tolerance.

My knowledge of the most random sports facts (most of them useless) can also be impressive at times.

The first things people usually notice about me

Maybe my height? I don't really know.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I like reading Stephen King, James Patterson (I love the way he makes each chapter like 2-3 pages and ends on a cliffhanger, lets me read his books in a day or 2) & Mitch Albom. The last books I finished were the last 2 in the Harry Potter series, and I'm currently reading Atonement, though I've said that for 2 months :-P (c'mon, it's hard to read during the semester!)

Movies: I'll watch anything. My DVD collection is over 300. Some of my favorites are Field of Dreams, Troy, The Rock, The Natural, October Sky, The Dirty Dozen, Cold Mountain and Little Miss Sunshine.

TV: Never miss an episode of The Office, 24 or Lost. (I love my DVR :) Recently got into House, Chuck and the past 2 seasons of American Idol.

Music: Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride, Evanescence, Alanis Morissette. A lot more country than I should probably admit. For a guy it's a very different taste. I take a lot of crap for it, but I'm proud that I "go my own way".

Food: Chicken parm is my favorite food. If I go to a restaurant, I'm usually ordering chicken-something. Love the Outback Steakhouse and Macaroni Grill.

The six things I could never do without

Movies: Great to get my mind off things. Of course, I'd watch them anyway :)

Internet: Does anybody remember what pre-internet life was like? No way I could keep in touch with everyone.

Vacations: I love traveling to Ft. Myers, Florida. Its so nice, and peaceful in the summertime.

Sports: Hey, I need one typical guy thing!

Friends/Family: Isn't this a given?

Hot showers: Good for thinking or relaxing. Also gets me going in the morning.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I'm always trying to figure out how to make people laugh. Being able to laugh and make jokes helps me get through hard times.

On a typical Friday night I am

I'm not a bar/club type person, so I enjoy going out to dinner or the newest movie with friends. During the semester I'll use my Friday nights to catch up on schoolwork, with the goal of being done so I can have my Saturday night and/or Sunday free. Many Fridays I'm actually pretty tired if I've had a long week, so I'll just stay in and relax.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have what could only be OCD. I just keep track of weird things, like when climbing steps I always end on my right foot. *shrug*

You should message me if

We have a lot in common, or if you just plain want to I guess. There are times when I can get pretty busy so please be patient if you send me a message and I don't get back to you right away.
