My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi. Thanks for noticing me.

I have started this on-line dating adventure for two reasons. First of all, I don't seem to meet many single women of a certain age any more. The women I meet are either too young to get the '80s or are already spoken for. Secondly, in putting myself out for public inspection like this, I am finding motivation to move parts of my life forward that had become static.

I grew up in Pittsburgh so, yes, I am a sports guy. I enjoy watching sports (especially baseball) but I do not live and die by the outcome and could even survive without ESPN. I enjoy all of the usual stuff: walks in the park; that first cup of coffe on a sunny Sunday morning; good movies; really, really bad movies; intelligent television; laughing; travelling; wine/vodka/beer (though not always in that order or on the same night); relaxing on the sofa; getting dressed up to go out; spending the day at the beach; sneaking off for a weekend.

I am adventurous enough to try anything once. I like women who can challenge me and push my boundaries. I think that I have lived a good life so far but I have definitely not lived all of it.

It may not be very manly to admit but I am a romantic. I believe that there is someone out there for me, we just haven't found each other yet.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Professionally I work in live entertainment. I am a lighting and video programmer, working on plays, musicals, corporate events, and the odd television job. I occasionally have to travel for the shows I work and those work days can be very long indeed.

Personally, I support Stand Up 2 Cancer, the American Heart Association, Pets 2 Vets, Planned Parenthood, and the DNC. I am hoping this year to advance my involvement beyond writing a check.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
finding presents and cards that are appropriate and meaningful, regardless of the holiday. I don't understand how people can look at holiday shopping as a chore nor do I get buying everything from amazon. Sure it is convenient and easy but some of the best gifts (and experiences) are things you stumble upon without meaning to. Sometimes, you have to fail a few times to really succeed.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The girls I dated at school always seemed to like my blue eyes but I don't know anymore. If I had to guess now, I would say it is my laugh. I have a voice that projects and carries easily in a crowded room and I've had actors on stage hear me laughing in the balcony.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family.
Friends.
Someone to talk with.
Something to talk about.
A good book.
An entertaining movie.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whatever it is that I did or read or saw last. I look back on my experiences to hopefully learn from them. I also try to be introspective and think on the obstacles that are holding me back in the hopes that I can overcome them. I will also worry about every job I start, trying to be mindful of its importance,my role, and what ways I can best show my abilities.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably home or at the movies. Since I lack a regular wing-man, I don't have the same enjoyment of going to a bar on a Friday night by myself as other guys seem to. Meeting up with friends is one thing but the whole going out by myself and trying to meet someone, a stranger, was never in my favorites column.
