My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Originally I hail from the wilds of the Oregon Coast. But now I find myself in Austin. These days I am, among other things, a programmer, skydiver, bookworm, triathlete and general lover of life.

Most of the past decade has been spent living all around the U.S. North Carolina, The Bay Area, Arizona, Florida, and a significant amount of time in the Middle East. I speak fluent Arabic.

Bike commuting to work makes me happy. Most of my time during the week is spent road biking, mountain biking, running, practicing some code or reading. I like riding single track at Walnut Creek Park when the weather is nice and long road biking trips (sometimes touring). Triathlons are my event of choice, but I love cycling/foot/any kind of race really, aiming for 12 a year.

Brewing beer (also cooking efficiently) is a passion of mine and someday I will perfect my own private IPA. I just got into kegging, and now have built my first kegerator! Huge fan of the crockpot for all purposes. Also a boardgame fan, Catan, Pathfinder, MoM, Munchkins... etc.

Ultimately, I live for the thrill of it all. There's always something new to experience and that's what gets me up in the morning.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
A lot of this!

This was from October 2014, clearly I am in the gray with TJT on my lapel!

Aspiring Skydiving Instructor for a Moonlight Career. USPA Coach Rating currently! Two more courses to go.

By day I work as a software developer in North Austin and pursuing a Masters on the side, albeit slowly.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Living life to the fullest.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My height and intimidating demeanor (resting bitch face extraordinaire).

But don't fret, I am a happy soul.

Books: I have a strong love of literature and my all time favorites are Don Quixote, Siddhartha, Slaughterhouse-Five, The Great Gatsby, Catch 22 and The Power of Positive Thinking. There are many honorable mentions.

I also love the Tim Dorsey series and the Dresden Files, Christopher Moore and a lot of others. I read incessantly and it would be awesome to share some books! Graphic novels (comics), biographies, history. Nothing escapes my curiosity.

Movies: Touch of Evil, Harvey, Oldboy... Noire and Superhero films.

Shows: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, True Detective.

Music: Metal.

Food: Korean, Mexican, Vietnamese.
The six things I could never do without

0.) Skydiving Equipment.
1.) Bicycle(s).
2.) Garmin 310XT.
3.) Full bookshelves.
4.) Beer.
5.) METAL.

I long to replace one of these with Vanagon in the future. But I'll probably just need to add a 7th because F the rules.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Maximizing my work to fun ratio.

And if I will ever master Sit Flying, Head Down and the Crazy Y. Progress is slow.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately just reading, planning a fun project, riding my bike or swimming at the Y. Followed by sampling a beer or two somewhere.

And hanging out with Steve and Ron, my awesome catmates!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am the most boring exciting person you will ever meet. But I like to think that I am the most exciting boring person instead.

Like Tolstoy himself. I read Don Quixote once a year.

And I hate watching sports... all sports. Which seems to be a rare thing. I love playing them though.

I suit your fancy. Or you want teach/learn slackline with me and maybe thrash out at Red 7 to The Sword or something. Or play Catan!

OR you're just a kooky lover of life with a taste for adventure who walks to the beat of their own drum, just as I do.
