My self-summary
Friendly and talkative. Loves being engaged with people. Ability to be nerdy about just about anything. Very much into comedy, music, and writing. Master of somewhat impressive guitar playing. Lover of history, the news, & politics, until they get too depressing to think about. Reader of books, especially when they involve magic, dragons, and/or space. Equally accepting of any and all lifestyles. Enjoyer of video games and other admittedly immature ways of passing the time. Pessimistic Optimist. Awkward giggler.

I'm TJ. I like making jokes jokes and helping people out.
What I’m doing with my life
I just moved to Washington to get away from the oppressive conservatism and suffocating heat of the south (NC, for the record). I work a silly office job where I get to sleep in and then go home when there's no traffic. In my spare time I play guitar, and write the occasional song that I will likely never perform. I used to want to be a comedian, but at this point, I've realized that I almost definitely need someone to really push me into it, and right now I don't have that. Seattle is neat, but I dont know it well at all, and I could really use people to hang with!
I’m really good at
Playing guitar, producing / analyzing music (as well as other things). Making convoluted jokes, writing jokes in general, and finding the connections / humor / inherent irony in things. Being generally self deprecating. Playing devil's advocate. Driving awkwardly yet effectively. Making eggs whenever I've been drinking. Menial tasks.
The first things people usually notice about me
People seem to like my hair? I like my eyes, but they annoy me for not picking a color. Oh yeah, there's non physical things to talk about too...I'm generally trying to make people laugh, because I sortaaaa don't think stories/thoughts are even worth telling if they aren't entertaining.

This might not be the "fist thing", but I'm pretty awkward on my feet and clumsy. Think Andy Dwyer from Parks & Recreation, only short. If you don't watch that show...well, it's quite enjoyable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
->First off, I'm going to list comedians, in lieu of music...because I like them more: Patton Oswalt, Louis CK, TJ Miller, James Adomian, John Mulaney, Eugene Mirman,Anthony Jeselnik, Pete Holmes, Todd Glass, Kyle Kinane, Greg Giraldo, Doug Stanhope, Mitch Hedburg, Dana Gould, David Cross, Marc Maron, Maria Bamford
-> Shows - Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, American Dad, The Office, Brooklyn 99, Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, Breaking Bad, Daily Show/Colbert Report, Louie, The League, Workaholics, Bob's Burgers, Trailer Park Boys, Modern Family, Justified, Game Of Thrones...Grey's Anatomy...
-> Music - Lotsa stuff. I prefer stuff with heavy guitar, or anything that sounds like it took a lotta work to make? Some regulars: Isis, Thrice, Daft Punk, BTBAM, Circa Survive, Black Dahlia Murder, Deftones, Fear Before, A Wilhelm Scream, Tool, Michael Jackson, Opeth, Massive Attack, James Taylor, Curren$y, He is Legend
The six things I could never do without
Guitar, Iphone full of music & podcasts, Notepad for writing down thoughts, MacBook... Weed? I know, that's sad, but it's true; I have a bit of general body pain & a couple other medical things that it just helps with SO perfectly. Glad to be somewhere it isnt illegal.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music/songs, humor/jokes, irony & hypocrisy, society, sexuality, politics, being/feeling certain ways &thinking about why exactly I do
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging when I can, but honestly, usually nothing (thus my profile! Haha). I hang with friends when I can, and I love meeting people for drinks & such (like the lovely people I meet on here!), but I dont really know many people here yet (read: I know exactly three people, ha), and I'm not exactly a fan of, say, just going to a bar by myself. I dont think its too vulnerable to admit that no one loves being in a social situation all alone?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My 06 Taurus is a shocking shade of seafoam. Its really quite awful.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–26
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Anything about me whatsoever makes you think you even might want to message me. No matter who you are or what kinda person you are, receiving a message always makes my day.

If you want to have an actual conversation. About anything, really.

"so, what are you looking for?"

Lots of people like to ask this on OkCupid. I myself recognize that this is a dating website. So, to elaborate on my earlier point: I am looking to "date." But this encompasses anything from casual hangouts, lunches, movies, drinks, et cetera...all the way to nice dinners, caring for each other on a personal level, and perhaps even intimate congress. I don't put labels on things, nor do I mind if other people put labels on things themselves. Basically, I'm pretty chill.

Anyways: I'm TJ. I just moved to Seattle. I have a small studio apartment to myself, I work a 40/hr a week 9-5 office job that's consistent & reassuring, I enjoy cracking jokes and making conversations as fun as possible, and I own a practical midsize sedan in a color I hate. I really enjoy spending time with people who are kind, accepting...and maybe love making jokes as much as I do. I love music & comedy, and I love analyzing things, and I love sharing both of those things with others - heck, I enjoy sharing MOST things with others. Now, just to find those...others. :)
