My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, my name is Taylor and I’m an addict. I’ve been addicted to traveling, languages, living in foreign countries, and culture exchange for as long as I can remember. It has by far been the most expensive of my addictions, but offers the greatest high! It is very difficult to exercise self-control when I see a cheap travel deal to a new destination. I even get my fixes when I can’t travel by hosting other people while they’re traveling (couchsurfing).

I tried to channel my addiction elsewhere and ended up being addicted to cooking at the same time. I spent more time working in kitchens than I did on my university studies and my teaching job. My studies suffered as a result. After 10 years of cooking in restaurants, I successfully gave up that nasty habit. The need for self-preservation and the occasional cooking for friends causes me to lose a day or 2. I can’t help it. I've turned that addiction into teaching English to foreigners and inflicting them with my vices.

Unfortunately, nobody told me that learning to perform Improv Comedy would be so habit forming. Before I knew it, I was taking two classes, formed my own all-women’s improv troupe and performing a few times a month, began volunteering at the theater, and catching as many shows and workshops as I can. What can I say? I’m a mess.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Going from addiction to addiction. Giving into my vices.

Learning languages, meeting and talking to people, traveling the world and my local surroundings, trying to laugh as much as possible and helping others do the same. And perhaps spending too much time with my nose in a book.

And pissing people off with my cut-and-dry directness. I'm trying to sound nicer when people (customers/students) piss me off, but I'm not doing too well.

There are other things I have dabbled in for short periods of time to longers ones that I wish I had more time to do and hope to do more of in the future:
playing music (bass guitar)
hiking and camping
rock climbing
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
learning languages (Currently learning Chinese and Esperanto)
-playing sports
-making people laugh
-cooking food (I used to be a chef)

I'm usually reading three different books at the same time.
1 classic
1 non-fiction
1 purely for the fun of it!

The Count of Monte Cristo, A Game of Thrones, Fucking Berlin, (Kafka's Metamorphosis has been staring me in the face but haven't started yet), Philip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury.
I also love Vikings, Norse mythology, and folklore such as the Brothers Grimm, Aesop's Fables, and the Kalevala.

Not too big into Hollywood films. Prefer more foreign, cerebral, clever, surreal, fucked up, intelligent, fucks with your head and makes you think. And well made comedies!
i.e. Run Lola Run, The Experiment (original German version), Hanna, 13th Warrior, Ex Drummer, 13th Floor, 101 Reykjavik, Angels of the Universe, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Identity, The Classic (Klassikko), In Bruges

TV: Raid, Dexter, Lost Girl, Game of Thrones, Continuum, Archer, Battlestar Galactica, Drawn Together.

Music: I love rock music, whether it rocked in the 1920's or it rocks today! I do however make an exception to this: emo.
Everything from Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, The Stooges, The Runaways, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Tool, NIN, Ministry, Slayer, Ajattara, Mayhem, Emperor, Cannibal Corpse, DevilDriver, Rammstein.
Also love Nordic Folk music and contemporary renditions.

Italian, Icelandic, Finnish, Danish, Mexican, American, Creole, Cajun, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Tapas, Arabic, Indian, Cali-Mex, Tex-Mex. Anything spicy!!!!
Pizza, Lambasveid (boiled Sheeps head), Kleinur (Icelandic coffee doughnuts), Karjalan Piirakkat (Karelian Pies), Pasta, Fajitas, Gumbo, Smorgasbord, Burritos & Tacos, Tamales

Beer - Disliking beer more and more. But have enjoyed these on too many occasions: Viking, Thule, Carlsberg, Karhu A, Astra, Ur-Krostitzer, Hasseroeder, Pilsner Urquell
Wine - Old and New World. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Bordeoux, Merlot, Gewuerztraminer, Rioja,
Whiskey - Bourbon and Scotch. Blanton's Single Barrel Kentucky Bourbon, Maker's Mark, Ardberg, Chivas Regal
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Friends and family to spend time with and talk to
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Boys, girls, sex, my next world adventure. Where will I go, where can I go, what do I want to do.

I'm also naturally curious about the world, the people, how things work and function, why things work or function well or badly, what went wrong, what went right, where the hell am I?
Those types of things ;)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday nights and weekends are pretty low-key because I'm so busy and active during the week. It's my chillax time.

But you'll find me reading a book, binge watching TV shows on Netflix, jamming on my bass with my neighbor, trying a new restaurant with a few close friends followed by goofiness and board games.

Sometimes I make it out to bars like The Independent and Highlander and stay up way too late with a few too drinks, but this is not the usual flare.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
All I will admit is that there are private things I won't admit to on a website!!!
