My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just imagine this profile doesn’t sound as awkward as I feel writing it…I’m originally from Maine and no, not the part with the ocean view and all those rich people. I just moved to Seattle in Sept after spending the last 5 years in NYC.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on my MLIS degree at chances are you'll find me reading, either for school (how many articles about ethical librarianship can their possibly be?!), work (I get to read super old documents in the UW Special Collections...letters from 1729 ship logs? Yes, please!) or pleasure (wait, I don't have time for this anymore).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting lost/ending up on the wrong bus
Remembering useless facts
Airport etiquette
Stealing pens from restaurants
Falling off completely level sidewalks
Driving real fast and not dying
Opening beer bottles with lighters
Finding the most reliable Google source
I also beat Where in the World/Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego (the computer game) when I was there's that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I love reading…like a little too much. Favorites include anything and everything by Emile Zola and Kurt Vonnegut, Gone with the Wind, Grapes of Wrath, House of Mirth, Game of Thrones series, Pillars of the Earth and World without End, Harry Potter Series, The Handmaid’s Tale, On the Road, Dovekeepers, Brave New World, Watership Down, Les Miserables, Lord of the Rings series, Middlemarch, Count of Monte Cristo, Outlander series, and pretty much any book with 700+ pages…and if it’s part of a series? Don’t even get me started.

Movies: White Christmas, Titanic, Moulin Rouge, The Beach, Gladiator, Practical Magic, To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Les Mis, Fifth Element…I’m realizing now what a random list this is.

TV: Twilight Zone, Modern Family, Lost, 30 Rock, Firefly, History documentaries.

Music: Just about anything except screaming rock music, if I can’t understand you, I don’t want to listen to you. Some favorites new and old are Dave Matthews Band, Jason Mraz, Florence and the Machine, 90s music, Fink, Zdob si Zdub.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Franks Red Hot Sauce
At least 1 book to read and 2 on deck
Hairs ties
To-Do List
Friends and Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What other people are thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Drinking too much wine and convincing myself I'll be totally unhungover tomorrow, doing school work, or marathoning questionably accurate history documentaries.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You know those girls you saw screaming and crying at Backstreet Boys concerts? That was me.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You have a beard and can do at least 2 manly things.

You can make me laugh, you are genuine, you like getting lost in new places, you’d rather skip the trendy bar and make some new friends at the $3 dive bar.

You're equally happy going non-stop til 5am (and staying in bed for the next 24 hours) or leaving it all behind to watch badly sourced documentaries and eating frozen pizza.

You are okay with the fact that I'm going to lie about how we met.

You actually read through this whole rambling profile.
