I am goofy, kind, and approachable.

My Self-Summary

I am 43. Yes, I am completely available, my divorce was final in 1993. No grieving, or bitterness stories here. My daughter is 20 years old now so I can stay out late if I want. I have a weird sense of humor - my daughter gets it and I get it but not everybody else. But, when they do they like it! I try to be a nice, pleasant, kind, person. But that does not mean I am weak or boring. I like to get a little rowdy. I like rock concerts, and yes, I will be jumping up and down and dancing and waving my arms and singing badly with the song. (and I will make up any words I can't remember) I LOVE to dance. I like rock climbing but haven't been in forever so I probably wouldn't last more than half an hour. I like most anything that gets me outdoors, though technically I am not described as an active person. Lets say I don't bring running shoes but I don't bring a lawn chair either.

What I’m doing with my life

I am in my third year as an operating engineer. That means I am studying to operate heavy equipment, you know, back-hoes and bulldozers and such. I like the outdoors. So, far I enjoy what I do. Spent 17 years as a single mother, and had extended family problems, and went through a couple of corporate mergers at work, so I am not financially or career-wise where I thought I would be by 40. But, I have an AMAZING relationship with my daughter, and am VERY close to my sister and nephew. So, if taking hits in life hurt my career but I saved my family then I'm OK with it.

I’m really good at

LOL Sorry, I am not really good at anything. I am pretty good at conversation and listening. I am pretty good at meeting new people. I am pretty darn good at trying new things, even scary or yucky new things. OH! Research. I am really good at research. Want some ideas on alternative approaches to some health problem? I can find you all kinds of options and list the pros and cons that go with each. That is the one thing I am really good at!

The first things people usually notice about me

It use to be my eyes and my butt. I don't know what it is now. I still have eyes but I don't know that they are "noticeable" and my butt is now impossible to ignore. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Most favorite bands are Apocalyptica and HIM.
I have read the LOTR three times and Watership Down about six. So, I guess they are my favorites. I love to re-read snippets of Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice
I have favorite movies to. Pick a genre and I'll pick a favorite. From Casablanca to Rio Bravo to Sleeping Beauty to Boondock Saints.
Favorite food - Tamales from La Unica in Lufkin Texas! Chocolate from Wisemans in Hico Texas. Seriously, to die for.

The six things I could never do without

Caffeine.
My daughter.
My relationship with God.
Motorized vehicles.
Talking
Not necessarily in that order.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

God and the condition of the world and where its going. My daughter and her future. My future. But, keep in mind that this is what I THINK about. What I TALK about is an entirely different thing. I talk about trivial things like which band is better or how bad is the latest movie.
