My self-summary
Vell, I'm just zis guy, you know?

I like biking, cooking, home brewing, board games, playing music (mostly guitar, a little bass, a little trombone, and of course my angelic voice), swimming laps, playing softball, camping, roman candles, making cocktails, trying new bars and restaurants, arguing, and being a good ol' knucklehead.

I have an inquisitive mind, I love understanding processes. I took my staff at work on a field trip to a distillery and a brewery recently and asked 1000 questions because that shit is cool.

I have a nerdy streak - I collect old video games, I love cartoons, be they wonderful classics like Looney Tunes or new favorites like Rick and Morty, and I simply adore science fiction in all forms of media.

I'm pretty skeptical about what I'll get out of being on here, but meeting someone awesome here that I could develop a serious long term relationship on here would be awesome. Totally fine with making friends and meeting interesting people.

I feel like this should go without saying, but I believe in respect and equality for all races, genders, creeds, or other ways folks like to classify themselves/each other. I even read some feminist stuff and believe in sane things like consent. I'm reasonably confident I'm not a scum bucket.

Down with the patriarchy! But don't fire me please, I'm in charge of some folks, but not a prick.
What I’m doing with my life
Managing a killer restaurant. Seriously - it's great.
My life goal is to be the proprietor of the first bar on Mars.
I’m really good at
Scrabble, math, navigation, making beer, cooking, games of any kind. My grammar and spelling game is on point. Public school represent! I'm pretty competitive by nature, although I'm not a dick about it. Mostly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Science fiction, non-fiction, classics, satire, comics. A few past favorites have included Dune, The Power and the Glory, Hitchhiker's Guide, Napoleon's Buttons, House of Leaves, Krazy Kat, Heavy Liquid, Sandman, and Snow Crash.

Movies: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Ikiru, Stepbrothers, 12 Monkeys, Strangers on a Train. A whole lot more.

Shows: Louie, Doctor Who, Twin Peaks, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Wire, Venture Bros, Mitchell and Webb. Some more.

Music: Tom Waits, Ween, Funkadelic, Townes Van Zandt, The Magnetic Fields, Black Sabbath. A shit ton more. I'll talk music all day.

Love food. All kinds. Fancy stuff like pate de foie gras, low class meals of fried chicken, curries of any origin, bone marrow, octopus, calves liver, steak tartare, sashimi, tostones, Thai, Japanese, Morrocan, Indonesian, Cambodian, what have you, I want it all! Let's grab a drink and a bite somewhere I've (you've) never heard of.

I have kept these lists relatively short because massive walls of text are annoying, and I'd rather talk in person about all the stuff I love.
The six things I could never do without
I could talk about my laptop and smartphone and shit but that's boring so lets do these:

Bicycle rides on cool summer nights.

Sloppy jam sessions with amps cranked to 11 and all of the fuzz.

Campfires that leave you with a wondrous smoky smell on your hoodie for the next week.

Potlucks/cooking up a storm with some good folk.

Rooftop hangs.

Weird food, gimme that durian and that kangaroo steak. (OK kind of not really on the durian it tastes like weird eggs, I recently had a durian frozen treat icepop type thing and it was dogshit)

Probably some other stuff too.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
adopting a dog/stealing yours
On a typical Friday night I am
probably working - Friday is not exactly, in my mind, the optimal time to go out. If I'm off, something low-key, board game night, pizza party, maybe a show, crowded bars on a busy night are not my idea of a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was on an MTV reality show when I was 18 and find my appearance on the show incredibly embarrassing but also who cares because I was 18.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You want to ride bikes, play board games, show me new music, play some music, drink fancy beers and shitty beers, have kitchen adventures, bring your dog over, teach me something, go to a ball game, argue about the best pizza in town, make out, jump in a creek, break some rules, thumbwrestle, watch old movies, try weird food together, make fun of each other, and eat snacks and take naps.
