My self-summary
I'm from Orange Country, about 400 miles south! I've been in the South Bay for over a year now.

I'm a deceptive nerd or as a phrase I've stolen from someone else profile so eloquently puts it, a "socially functional nerd."

Despite being a huge nerd I've always worked towards not being immediately viewed in that stereotype. I shower daily, no greasy hair here. I have good skin and I'm not obese. I have no speech impediments and I'm not scared of girls! I dress like a skater, because the clothes are so damn comfy, few things can beat a 100% organic cotton t-shirt; but if you talk to me you'll probably figure out pretty quickly what a nerd I am.

I'm not socially awkward but I choose my friends carefully. Some people I connect with and can mentally befriend in a few weeks, but most take months to really be considered a friend to me. I've never been one to confuse acquaintances with friends, I don't like collecting people on facebook or myspace and deluding myself into thinking I have 15,000 friends.

I'm selective, curious, and honest
What I’m doing with my life
After graduating into a terrible recession. I've finally managed to get a job. And not only a job, but one in an Industry I love!

Right now I'm running myself ragged, 15 hour work day? THAT'S SHORT! Haha. I'm trying to boost my resume and build some clout so I can eventually become a video game Producer.

Recently I've been working on improving my pull ups! I was doing pull ups mon/wed/fri but I wasn't seeing any improvements so I just changed to a 5 day routine. Hope it works!
I’m really good at
I'm more of a jack of all trades, master of none. I'm good at everything (except maybe modesty, haha!), I have the capacity to be really good at any of them, but I haven't found anything that interest me enough for me to put the effort into mastering it.

I'm not deterred by anything. No matter how daunting or how often someone says 'we should just pay someone to do it...' I'll do it! I'm quite handy, taught myself skills like tiling and PVC pipe repair. Self taught PHP, photoshop, and 3d animation. There's nothing you can't do if you try!

If I had to say one thing I'm really good at, it would be video games. I've been playing them since I got a Sega Genesis 15 years ago. They say that if you practice something for 10,000 hours you're an expert at it. So I would say I've either recently hit that, or will soon, so it's kind of my field of expertise!
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not sure to be honest. People often tell me that I have a memorable smile but I don't go flashing the good one when we've just met!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Discworld Series by Terry Pratchet, Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkin, Old Mans War series by John Scalzi, Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and finally H.G. Wells Time Machine and War of the Worlds, George R. Martins a Song of Ice and Fire.

TV: Misfits, Being Human(UK), Skins(UK), Dr. Who, Torchwood, Inbetweeners, Shameless, Dexter, Weeds, House, How I Met Your Mother, Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Outsourced, 30 Rock, Lie to Me, Californication, SG1, SGA, SGU, Eureka, Battlestar Galactica and more I can't remember atm!

Movies: The Day the Earth Stood Still (original), The Italian Job (original), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, War of the Worlds (new one), Stargate, Office Space, Blade Runner, Juno, Star Wars (first 3...) and more...

SEAN OF THE DEAD - god knows how I forgot this one, but its probably the only movie I've watched 6+ times and enjoyed every time. I watched it on Comedy while working out the other day and I noticed even more details that I'd never noticed before...and it was like my 6th time watching it! Probably my favorite movie of all time now.

Music: Anything but country that's good. I tend to listen to a lot of streaming eurodance. Some groups and artist I really like are Royksopp, Gigi d'Agostino, Weezer, The Killers, Gnarls Barkley, and a thousand various songs.

Really like Kid Cudi lately, not so much the topics of his songs, just how they're sung. Don't really like stoners.

Food: Most anything made with fresh ingredients and executed properly. I love Sushi and Fruit, though not together.
The six things I could never do without
1. Computer - So many things you can do with a computer!

2. Anime/Manga - My nerdiness goes on, I've been watching/reading for the last decade and have become quite the connoisseur. I'm quite picky about what I watch/read though.

3. My Bike - My Felt F85 which I put about 80 miles on a week.

4. Real Food - Not what I had to eat when I ran out of money in college, but food with herbs and spices.

5. Plants - I have a bit of a green thumb, I tend a couple vegetable plants, a herb garden, and a few other plants like a Feijoya and Pineapple plant I grew. Fresh food and herbs are just so much more delicious.

6. Swiss Ball - If you think an exercise is easy, do it on a swiss ball! Nothing's easy on a swiss ball!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work, it's hard to leave it behind especially when you spend so much time there.

Everything. I might get stuck on thinking about how I want to weed a flower bed because its so badly infested, or how do I brew my own ginger beer? Random thoughts pop into my head all the time. One of the reason I love Wikipedia, to satiate my strange urges and curiosity.

Though what occupies my thoughts the most is what I'm going to do that day to keep myself amused and busy. I hate being idle, I'd rather be doing 5 things at once for 12 hours a day than be sitting watching paint dry. I try to keep myself busy.

I think of a lot of things that fall under the 'if I had more money' category.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching whatever Starcraft 2 Tournament is starting that weekend!

Starting my workout routine for the weekend.

I'm not a big partier and I don't like clubs. During college everyone would leave campus to spend the weekend at home so I've become used to having an empty apartment on Friday and my habits have come to reflect that setting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I recently bought a pink striped shirt from A&F and it's quickly become one of my favorite shirts.
