My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
New York State of Mind.

Thinking Differently.

Seeing the world in shades of gray.
Not in a dreary way, but in a things are not black and white way.

This includes politics, ideas, debates, discussions, personalities, sexualities, genders, and just about everything. Most things are on a spectrum.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting my life on.

Just ran the 2013 NYC marathon, my first marathon.

Continuing the adventure that is living in New York, with a few trips each year. I was able to travel a lot more than usual the past year going to a random mix of places like Savannah, GA, Las Vegas & the Grand Canyon, Seattle/Portland/Spokane and Northern Idaho, Erie/Buffalo/Niagara Falls, Memphis, Montreal, and New Orleans. Next up is Dublin and Belfast.

Doing business consulting now, education in the future, and all sorts of other things in between and along the way. Life has more than one act.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Basketball, although "really good" is very relative.

I've got a great sense of direction. Whether it's in NYC, or some other random place, I find my way around pretty well, map or no map.

Connecting with people.

Remembering interesting/obscure facts and stories. Sometimes interesting, sometimes useless.

Know anything about Myers Briggs? I'm a believer. And an ENFP, with a strong N.

Books? The Alchemist was great. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I usually like non-fiction. Books by the NYTimes writers. And stuff. Reading Dan Savage columns. GGG.

Movies: Vanilla Sky, Pursuit of Happiness, Rocky Horror

Shows: The West Wing, The Office, NBA Basketball, CNN/MSNBC, The Daily Show, Sex & The City (I'll admit's a good show!)

Music: A little bit of everything...Billy Joel, Jay Z, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, U2, Bruce Springsteen, OAR, 80' music....if it's fun, then play it.

I've started going to traditional Irish music sessions in NYC which is a great time.

Also a big fan of NPR. I like to think.

Books...Food.....if I list out all this stuff, what would I talk about on a date!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food, water, oxygen…

Friends, Family, NYTimes (news junkie), Internet (sad but true) Alarm clocks (I'm not a morning person, but I play one on TV), Passport.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'll be up to tonight, and the rest of the week.

What the next adventure is. Where the next travel destination could be.

Monogamish relationships.

The meaning of certain words. Words are symbols that represent different meanings, and if one word can have 25 different meanings to 25 different people it can be tricky! For example, the word queer.

What life will be like in 5 years.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with some group of friends. And it really varies. There are college friends, work friends, NYC friends, international friends, traditional Irish music friends, hipster type friends, running friends, basketball friends and on and on.

Then sometimes there are costume/kinky/fetish party friends. Think sexy and fun at upscale NYC venues. Some of the costumes and outfits are amazing. It's like burlesque, but better, and anyone can dress up a bit. I've been told my legs aren't bad in fishnets but I don't know about that.

I'm pretty well rounded. I fit a little bit into every box, but not completely in any box. And I love that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I once lost a bet that involved Victoria's Secret.

Funny story and more comfortable than expected. : P
