I am pursuing my passion by going to school to become a professional chef. When I am not playing with food my food though, I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Among my favorite things to do are bicycling, walking, hiking, or spending time at the beach.

For starters, cooking. It is something that I just love to do. I have also been told that I have a wonderful personality and am great at making people smile.

Books: When it comes to reading I typically stick to short stories and poetry by Bukowski and philosophy by Sartre. Aside from those I will read anything that can grab my attention and wrestle it into submission. Very few novels have been able to actually do this and the most recent one has been Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.

Movies: I love watching movies and will give anything a shot. My favorites are as follows: The Big Lebowski, Across the Universe, The Goonies, and Braveheart to name just a few.

TV Shows: Currently I am in love with Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Shameless as far as dramas go. I also am a fan of anything by Seth MacFarlane, The Simpsons, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Big Bang Theory, and some 80's sitcoms are great.

Music: I have a very eclectic palate as far as musical taste goes. I LOVE Jazz, it speaks to me like no other form of music can. Listening to anything by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington or anything featuring Max Roach sends me orbital. Like most things though, too much is just too much and when I am taking a break from jazz I listen to everything from Classic Rock (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc.); to Indie (The Shins, Rogue Wave, The Decemberists, Modest Mouse, etc.); to Hip-Hop (Eminem, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, MosDef, etc.). I love music and everything about it.

Food: To me food is more than something that sustains us, it is emotion - it is expression. I love food more than words could do the emotion justice. I consider myself an "adventurous eater"and I will try anything at least once. Since the list of things I will not eat is shorter than what I will it would be better to list those as there are only two: beef liver and pumpkin pie. Yes, you read that correctly - I dislike pumpkin pie...I am weird, I know.

Music, because it speaks to my soul. Coffee, because it does a great job waking me up and getting me going (it tastes pretty damn good too). My daughter, because she is my inspiration. My down comforter, because well...come on it is a down comforter. My free-spirited nature, I couldn't imagine life any other way. Finally, the Internet - because it is really one of the very few ways I connect with my friends and family back east.

As of late I have been doing a lot of thinking about my future and where I want this life of mine to take me.
I do think about other things as well, mostly randomness. I think about people, animals, the world, the fate of humanity...ya know the little things.

...either cooking and enjoying a glass of wine to the warm glow of my laptop screen, out with friends, or going for a nice stroll through the city while listening to music.
