I tend to be highly motivated though I've mellowed out quite a bit in my thirties. Work-life balance and personal happiness have become a significant priority. In my twenties, I graduated from Princeton, taught in the inner city while earning a master's in teaching and a second master's in administrative leadership and policy studies, and wrapped up the decade by concluding my law degree. I'm exhausted, just thinking about it!
I'm an introvert at heart (INTJ if you know Meyer's Briggs) though I'm very social at the same time. I enjoy spending time with friends, and I am fortunate to have many here. In fact, two of my best friends from high school live here.
Taking good care of myself is important to me. I enjoy some sort of exercise at least 4-5 times a week whether I'm pounding the elliptical for an hour, mustering through a Pilates class, making my epic local pass worth the price, or hiking/snowshoeing in the foothills. I'd love to find an activity partner in a future relationship with the caveat that I'm not an "extremist." You won't find me up at 3am to climb 12 fourteeners this summer or doing a century ride just for the heck of it. I do love the outdoors, but I'm not "in training":)
Politically, I swing left, though admittedly it is somewhat irresponsible of me to vote a ticket strictly based on education policy, something I'm particularly passionate about.
Spiritually, I attend an episcopal church once a month - sometimes none - I seem to cycle in phases. I find it grounding though I find just as much solace in the peace of a scenic mountain valley. The episcopal church is not indoctrinating and is openminded - not very rule oriented, if you will. I find it to be a very inclusive, accepting place. Generally though, my philosophy is that everything happens for a reason, and I strive to ascertain what I'm supposed to learn from every person I meet and every up and down I encounter. I'm very appreciative of all that I've been given in this life and try to pay it forward wherever possible.
I find that I'm more of a homebody than a world traveler though I've visited all over the world - Europe, Asia, Central America, etc. I prefer to travel within Colorado as there's so much to enjoy right in our backyard.
I'm looking for someone who knows who he is. He should be down-to-earth, easy going, career-minded with a good sense of humor. Height is always a bonus!
