My self-summary
Tall and single. That about sums it up.

On a more deeper note, I am a lot of things: pilot, musician (once upon a time), audio engineer are the things that come to mind right off. I enjoy learning about all things that interest me.

I've come to the conclusion that making it to your mid-30s and still being single is nothing to be proud about in and of itself, although being single this long has allowed me some unique opportunities. I've spent three years on the road visiting every state in the lower 48 plus quite a few countries in western Europe. I moved to Alaska, learned to fly, and started a professional aviation career. I've gotten to be really involved with my local church and be there whenever something needed to be done.

All that said, going to weddings of people ten years younger than you pretty much sucks. I'm definitely looking to find the love of my life, and totally not afraid to admit that on a dating site.

The more and more I accomplish the more I realize that I'll forever be a work in progress. One never arrives. I've got some cool stories and a boatload of perspective, not quite enough formal education for where I want to end up, too many books on the shelf (is that really possible?) and desire to start crafting a meaningful life with someone meaningful.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently an airline pilot.....

After growing up in FL, then three years on the road in a tour bus, 8 years (minus three winters) in various places in Alaska, and a year and a half in CO, a brief sojourn back on the east coast and the Midwest, I'm doing my best to settle down a bit.
Ultimately the goal is to get to a point where I've got a decent job and I'm coming home to a hot wife. I'm working on it.

In the meantime I hope to find a cool church and a network of friends.

2/14/15: Currently making my way through training with a new airline, about to come to the end of that process and start working. Move in date in Knoxville is the first week of March. Looking forward to it.
I’m really good at
Flying airplanes. Driving. Mixing. Bass (once upon a time).
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm super dang tall. Seriously ladies, if you're over 6 feet and like to wear heels I'll still have you beat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Michael Creighton, Tolkien, Clive Cussler, Watership Down, Chronicles of Narnia, Pillars of the Earth. John Eldredge.

Movies: Any action movie du jour. Will do chick flicks for a good cause

TV: House, Castle, CSI Vegas, Mentalist, Firefly, BSG, B5, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Revolution, Under the Dome, Game of Thrones.

Music: DCB, Iona, Hillsong United, Passion, DMB, the Wailing Jennies, Tycho, and a lot more.

Food: After a very long, close relationship with the freezer section for far too long I've been convinced of the need to move to a better diet. Hard to do when your professional life consists of an endless stream of airport terminals. Working on it. Will gladly wash dishes in exchange for inspiration.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Genealogy and history, particularly 16th and 17th century American History, and pre-Tudor English History. It's my current fascination.

Nuclear power and how we should be building a LOT more of it.

Asteroid mining.

Would I really build a shipping container home with an aquaponics setup out back?

Life and how it's unfolding. How I wish it would've unfolded differently. How I get over that and move forward anyway.

I've spent a lot of time focused on career, etc, and I still have some way to go I think, but lately I've been thinking about it would be really awesome to find that one to go to sleep and wake up with, and who gives a damn if that slow me down a bit.

I've been wondering a lot lately if my life choices have really reflected my deepest held goals. I've bounced around a lot lately, and as has been said by someone in the past, "a rolling stone gathers no moss." Not only that but my resume is starting to resemble a train wreck. I would like nothing more than to land a position that allows me to build some longevity and roots in one place, preferably a place I like and finally do the whole "meet a girl and settle down" thing. Sometimes I wish I had settled on a career that makes that easier, but here I am. C'est la vie.
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

If you truly believe that behind every good man is a better woman. And more importantly, that behind every good woman is a man who loves her well, mind, soul, and body.

Lastly, I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.
