My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A Silicon Valley technophile and Whovian looking to make the most of my time here (which evidently involves watching a lot of David Tennant).

I enjoy learning about science and technology, and the ways in which they improve our lives and explain what used to be inexplicable. I love seeing society evolve toward a Star Trek-like egalitarianism using technology to solve our problems.

I am intelligent, introverted, and self-upgrading.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a technologist and a gamer, and for me my job is something I do, not who I am. I spend my days testing business software (basically, programming computers to test themselves). In the evenings I often play games (lately, Borderlands and Civilization 5) or watch Doctor Who or Netflix. Weekends usually see me relaxing on Saturday and socializing on Sunday (breakfast with my dad, home for a bit to do laundry, then out to play D&D with some friends).

I love games of all sorts, from board to card to role-playing to video to computer. About the only kind of game I don't like is sports. I play Dungeons and Dragons every Sunday (running a game one weekend and playing in one the next), and enjoy games like Apples to Apples, Fluxx, and We Didn't Playtest This At All, as well as video games such as the Final Fantasy series, and the Grand Theft Auto series. Sometimes I play Ingress -- unlike most games I play, this one gets me out of the house! :D Another recent favorite is Dungeons and Dragons Online.

Since I enjoy both video games and computer programming, naturally I'd like to program my own game(s). I've self-taught a little bit on this subject. I'd like to create a fantasy role-playing game in the tradition of the old Final Fantasy games (FF1-FF6).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Academics, learning things, math, science, language, and...

Computers! This is a broad category -- web design, programming, software quality assurance, building computers, troubleshooting, etc.

I'm also awesome at sleeping in, procrastination, underachieving, and arriving late to anything that starts before noon.

Probably the bright red fedora that I'm wearing. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Some of my favorites are Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide series and Diana Wynne Jones' Chrestomanci series. Right now I'm in the middle of reading all the Sherlock Holmes books and stories, as well as Iron Man and Philosophy. I usually tend to read fantasy, sci-fi, and humor. I have a bunch of books I've bought but not read over the past couple of decades, which I plan to read and sell and/or turn into ebooks. The more books I can have in as little space as possible, the better!

Movies: My favorites are Lord of the Rings, The Last Starfighter, Serenity, and that Red Dwarf movie they've been promising for about 15 years but haven't made yet. I'm using Netflix to catch up on all the movies I meant to watch and never got around to. :) I'm also looking forward to the Arrested Development movie!

Music: My musical taste is eclectic, though I don't much care for rap or country. My two favorite bands are The Beatles and Metallica. I'm not a super musical person.

Food: Italian! Spaghetti with a good meat sauce, or chicken fettuccine alfredo primavera, or LASAGNA (shades of Garfield there...).

TV shows, anyone? Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Psych, Dexter, Arrested Development...

Oh, and comic books: Buffy, Angel, Knights of the Dinner Table, Stephen King's Dark Tower comics, and a few others.

Also, webcomics: Questionable Content, xkcd, SMBC, and several others.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Glasses, Internet access, games, great food, intellectual stimulation, stuff to read.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game. to meet the right girl without exhausting my introverted self by meeting tons of new people...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose? home programming, reading, watching Netflix, redditing, or playing video games.
