My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First of all, I'm a geek. There I got that out of the way. But that's such a broad statement. There are so many things to be geeky about. I'm a computer geek - it's what I do for a living. I'm a gamer geek of all shades (computer, tabletop, role-playing). I'm a movie geek, and I'm tattooed. You might say I'm a bit of an odd duck and that would be an understatement.

I like cheese, and by that I don't necessarily mean the food -- though you can't beat a good Gouda. I mean the silly things. A good cheesy movie is something that just can't be beat. If you can't stand someone who doesn't take life too seriously (because life it too important to not be fun) then I'm not the guy for you. This doesn't mean I can't be serious when needed, I just reserve it for when it's necessary.

OH! I'm polyamorous. I always seem to forget that part when filling out these things. I guess it's intrinsically part of who I am that I do just forget about it. I am currently seeing other people. I'm not necessarily looking for anything right now, but if something finds me, I'm not one to turn it away. That being said, I'm not into quick hook-ups without serious emotional investment. I'm not EVER looking for a one night stand.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work by day as Head of Operations / Sr. Server Admin for a small company. By night I'm an aspiring photographer and all around geek. I work to live -- and by living I mean attending conventions, enjoying video games, comic books, geeky movies and TV, and especially playing Rock Band.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

When it comes to books, I'm a total sci-fi/fantasy geek, especially when it comes to urban fantasy. War for the Oaks, by Emma Bull is right up there at the top of my all time list as well as Dreams Uderfoot, by Charles De Lint. I enjoy the works of Neil Gaiman, Seanan McGure / Mira Grant and a great many others. Oh! And comic books. I prefer Marvel over DC, but enjoy them all. Some of my favorites are from Dark Horse too.

I love a wide variety of movies. Some of my favorites are what others would call 'guilty pleasures', but I refuse to call them that, because I love them unabashedly. Some of these movies include, Howard the Duck, Night of the Comet, Flash Gordon (the 1980 version with the Queen soundtrack), and Little Shop of Horrors (the musical version). There are many more, but this gives a good idea. I also enjoy the absurd SyFy Channel movies, like MegaShark vs. Giant Octopus.

Music is a really important part of my life. I don't play an instrument or anything like that, but music has to be there. I love most kinds of music, especially good examples in all genres. I mostly listen to rock/folk. Oh! And just for the record, if you're one of those people that can't stand Nickelback then you may want to move on. While they're not my favorite band, I do enjoy them very much (and they put on an awesome live show). Among my favorites are Ludo, Rock Sugar, Def Leppard, Great Big Sea, Oysterband, Jonathan Coulton, Seanan McGuire, Bone Poets Orchestra, Night Ranger, Van Canto, and many others.

Food! Food is important. About a year ago I was diagnosed as diabetic. I was put on insulin injections and the whole nine yards. I did everything within my power to get control of it so I wouldn't have to be on the insulin anymore. I changed the way I ate and exercised a little bit more. I'm eating things that are higher in protein (meat, meat and more meat) and less carby things (sugar, sugar, HFCS). But don't get me wrong... I ENJOY food. I'm a fan of all cuisines and as long as it hasn't been buried to rot and dug up again, I'm pretty okay with trying it at least once.
