My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm so utterly amazing that words could not describe me. Next time you see me, simply stare into the profound depths of my soul and find your answers, whether it be that I'm a total dork, or so incredibly stupid that my intellectual ineptitude is only bound by the definition of stupidity, all while my eyes glaze over at the mere thought of the meaning of life.

No, seriously, I'm a nerd. Basically, I can geek out with the bros *brofists*, and hang with the hoes. I'm also a feminist, so please don't EVER call me your hoe... unless it's kinky and involved gardening tools.

I identify less as bisexual than I do as pansexual/polysexual and queer. I also have friends who I frequently nerd out with regarding all manner of things, including internet memes, sports, politics, girly self-affirmational truisms about life, and crude but brilliantly nerdy topics.

As whimsical of a personality as I am, social justice, and anti-oppression activism are important issues to me, even though I'm not engaged in them as often as I would like to be.

28 years in, I'm still a work-in-progress. I like to analyse and reconstruct things a lot, and that can sometimes include myself. That said, for all personality metrics are worth, I'm predominantly INFP who may lapse into a ENTP persona when situations call for it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I was previously working part-time while completing the Nursing (BSN) program at Langara College. Currently I am working part-time and attending classes in the UBC Social Work program. In between all that, I traveled, and lived in New York with my partner for about 5 months where I learned to appreciate all things football-related and the mystique of American exceptionalism (they take that shit seriously down there).

Before all that, I drifted between SFU and Langara while sorting out, uh... personal issues~ The rest of the time I'm either hanging with my friends and roomies, or staying cooped up in my room studying, but I like to think that I spend my time exploring myself, my social environments and my relationships in them. If it's fun and ethical, my life's bound to take me there someday.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being occasionally inarticulate, and unintentionally cutesy despite my eclectic academic background and enjoyment I get from debating within a wide spectrum of discourses. Hey, at least that way I don't come off sounding like a total douche... right??

Being an armchair athlete, and a darn good one. Seriously, I possess more esoteric knowledge regarding a large variety of sports than most guys.

Being an armchair academic (because I'm too lazy to write papers for the rest of my life). I swear I've taken more uni courses than you can count on two hands, a list which includes courses in history, philosophy, political science, statistics, English, Japanese, geography, environmental resource management, sociology, psychology, women's studies, calculus, biology, physics, chemistry, economics, annnd computer science.

Yep, I'm a bona-fide nerd, so feel free to chat me up about any of those subjects and I'll more than likely be able to keep up with you. No, I do not know anything about Camus' Paradox of the Absurd, which I had to google up just now, and the extent of my actual comp sci knowledge is limited to having code monkey friends and nerding out about computer hardware.

Being awkwardly self-conscious while trying not to appear awkward and self-conscious.

Being occasionally self-confident and brotastic.

Dancing with myself.

Spacing out and daydreaming.

Conjuring things up that could be seen as witty and ironic.

Hiking up The Chief like a boss.

Being picky about what I consider to be good craft beer and condescending about it.
The first things people usually notice about me

My hair, and even though I live in Vancouver where 30% of the population is Asian, the fact that I'm Asian.

Books - Anything NOT by Ayn Rand. 'Objectivism' gets a disdainful, titanic shrug outta me, even though I do understand the empowering appeal of the self-reliant, individualistic discourse.

Various feminist literature.

Nineteen Eighty-Four.

I should read a lot more considering how much I love reading, but I never got into the habit of picking up novels.

Food - Oh MY GAWD, just about anything tasty imaginable. Especially steak, pho, ramen, pasta, and sushi in no particular order. Delightful little tapas dishes are sexellent as well. I've also had some mighty delicious vegetarian fare out in the city that I may just convert, even if it meant giving up oh so wondrous animal products. I fucking love hummus, just. that. much.

PS There is no better sushi in a town chock full of sushi joints than Kaide Sushi if you're a sushi purist - that means you're not into the sickly, low quality pieces of fish that are sacrificed to make the monstrosities that come out of the hipster kitchen at the Eatery. You get a pass if you're a strict vegetarian/vegan, because you wouldn't know any better anyway *says it as pretentiously as possible*
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My computer
Truth and personal growth
Good food
Good music
Fun, dirty and intelligent conversations
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Gender, race, identity, politics, relationships, dorky little interests, and things on the internetz. Oh, and how to bridge a true sustained understanding between the two camps that label themselves as either liberals or conservatives.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking to hang out and have a few beers with friends, or conversely being a total homebody. Truly, I would head out to just about any corner of the GVRD on transit if there is promise of fun and debauchery.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a trans woman. I'm pretty open about that fact even if I can 'get away' with not having to be. Hey~ It's like having a question worth a million points plastered right on my profile, right? Saves me and everyone else the trouble.

Also I have a tic disorder that's most noticeable when I'm stressed, nervous, excited, or low on sleep (basically always), but I'm usually able to manage it.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 20–40
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends

you liked my profile

you are a fellow female nerd . I guess male nerds are okay too *says it dismissively with a hand wave*

you think we could make a good, easy-going dork couple, albeit a platonic one (although I still love to playfully flirt with my cohorts of the female variety...) because I AM CURRENTLY TAKEN. Yes, that's right. Christ guys, stop asking me out with lewd messages fawning over my supposed cuteness, or thinking that I somehow must be 'special' or even desperate because I'm trans.

you just want someone to chat with and possibly be friends with (like, totally do message me if you think you'd enjoy hanging out with me. I can always use more friends :))

you don't believe feminists are crazy man-hating lesbians

you don't mind engaging in intellectual discussions or even simple banter with someone who may oh so sporadically lose her train of thought and quintessentially ditz out

you don't mind quirkiness, me blurting random things out, and getting excited about something seemingly out of nowhere

you sincerely want to get to know me as a person, and am not just looking for a fling with 'an exotic Asian tranny'

you think you'll like me in your house, cozied up like a little mouse
