My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been at this online dating thing for a while now. I'm both enthusiastic and apathetic about it. Hopeful and pessimistic. But I guess that's life. Anywho...

My dog is the love of my life, block-headed though he may be. He's big and dumb and sweet and wonderful. I'm the type of person who feels about their dog the way most people feel about their children. I also have three cats, who I adore.

I'm a nerd, but not academically. I love fantasy and sci fi stuff. I play/have played a few video games. I suck at console games, but I wish I was better at them. I'm a former WoW addict (two years sober). One of these days I'll sit down and play Skyrim (as of yet, I've only watched other people play).

I love to sew and craft. I like making clothes and creating fun ways to personalize my home (as much as I can, that is, being a renter). I can't wait til I have my own home and can go to town with DIY projects.

I'm not very outdoorsy or athletic, but I do enjoy walks and visiting parks like Letchworth or Stonybrook. I'd love to get my dog well enough trained to go walking on the trails there, with his backpack on. (Yes, my dog has his own backpack.)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated from RIT in spring of 2012 with a degree in Hospitality and Service Innovation, and I've been trying to decide where to take my career from here. I'm currently waitressing at a restaurant, and starting a second job as a cocktail waitress soon.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I won't say I'm REALLY good, but I do have a great passion for cooking and baking. I'd never claim to be a gourmet cook, if anything, I'm a practical cook. I love homemade food and baked goods though, and I have a great love of comfort food. For the record though, most of my friends and family are big fans of my talents.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Some of my favorite book series are Harry Potter, Sword of Truth, A Song of Ice and Fire, In Death, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, among others. I don't have as much time to read as I used to, but I love to listen to books on audio whenever I can.

I don't make it to the movie theater a lot, so I tend to be behind on the recent films, but some of my favorites include The Princess Bride, Annie Hall, Same Time Next Year, Stranger Than Fiction, Serenity, Secretary, the Indiana Jones movies, the Back to the Future trilogy, most of the Star Wars films, Disney classics, and lots more.

These days, I tend to prefer TV over movies (they aren't calling this the golden age for television for nothing!) and I try and keep up with some current shows as well as repeatedly watch plenty of older ones. My favorites include How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, Scrubs, Friends, Futurama, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Torchwood, Game of Thrones, Boy Meets World, Rome, Firefly, The League, Once Upon a Time, and plenty of others.

I tend to have a very varied taste in music, so I'll just list a few favorites here. I like a lot of different genres and artists, so I'll just make this list short. Some of my favorites are The Used, Say Anything, Motion City Soundtrack, Maroon 5, and Jason Mraz, but I won't waste your time going on and on.

While I do try to have an open mind when it comes to books, movies, music, and tv, I won't lie when I say there are some things I simply can't stand. (Twilight, True Blood, ICP, and most stupid, brainless comedies, to name a few.)

As for food, I won't lie, I am often a picky eater. I think that's one of the reasons I love cooking so much; I can make food just the way I like it. As a rule, I'm a big fan of fish, but not shellfish, flavored pastas, and fresh bread is definitely my favorite thing. I am absolutely nothing even close to a vegetarian. :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Aside from the basic necessities for survival (food, water, oxygen, etc):

1. My pets
2. My phone (yes, I'm an addict)
3. My computer
4. My craft and sewing supplies
5. My kitchenware
6. My alarm clock (I am not a morning person)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My life goals, my creative ambitions, and my dog.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Honestly, while I like the idea of going out to bars or clubs, the logistics of it always end up being too annoying, so I rarely go out on the weekends. (Drinks cost more, figuring out how to get home safely, etc.) Not that I'm totally opposed to going out, but generally, I'm home on Friday nights, either with my roommate or some friends, drinking wine, watching funny YouTube videos, and watching my dog chase the cats around the house.
