My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I returned to Philly about a year ago after living in Europe for a year and a half. Since coming back, I got a new job, a new apartment, and a new couch. So, I'm thrilled with the new chapter in my life.

I'm really into craft beer and started brewing my own. It's still a work in progress, but I'm getting better.

I cook my steaks and salmon on a solid, 2” thick block of salt. And I mean that literally. If you don’t believe me, ask. I love talking about my salt!

I'm also a huge fan of Marlins baseball (source of my user name, btw). I try to spread awareness of the Marlins wherever I go. Since they're so bad, it can be easy to forget about them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an accountant, which combines the adrenaline rush of sitting in an office all day with the non-stop thrill ride of looking at excel spreadsheets. I’ve been doing it several years and kidding aside, I do like it well enough.

I'm really into exercising. In the past two years, I started two new sports: orienteering and curling:

In orienteering, you get a map, go in the woods, figure out the course, and race to get to the end. There’s no worse feeling than being hopelessly lost in the woods, dead tired, while the clock is ticking by. Ok, that’s an exaggeration. But merely finishing a race feels like such an accomplishment.

If you’re not familiar with curling, basically the object is to slide 42 pound rocks across a sheet of ice to get your rocks closer to a goal than the other team’s rocks. Curling is a lot harder than it looks on tv and it’s my new goal in life to not be completely terrible at it. I got a long way to go.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at trying something new, making a jackass of myself, and having a good time all the while. I once learned a foreign language by spending three months with a family that didn't speak English. We communicated mainly with hand gestures and good intentions.

I'm mad good at Super Mario 3. I've played that game as far back as I can remember.

I know a ridiculous amount of Simpsons trivia and quotes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I first met my doctor, he commented on how straight my teeth were. Two days later, a friend of a friend made the same comment. Good oral hygiene is no laughing matter.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: 1984, Freakonomics, America: The Book, Catcher in the Rye, Ender's Game.

Movies: Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. The dialogue in both those films is hilarious and outshines the action. Also, The Dark Knight, Wall-E, Robocop.

TV: Worker and Parasite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ubckx7X2Nd4

Music: Ellie Goulding is my new music crush. I listen to everything. Mainly, I've been listening to Blaqk Audio, Shiny Toy Guns, and Lana Del Rey recently. And, I feel like I need to include Rage Against the Machine, Streetlight Manifesto and Bad Religion for old time's sake.

Food: Comfort food: meatloaf, pot pies, stews, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Adventure
2. Craft beer
3. Pot pies
4. Marlins baseball
5. My running shoes
6. Finding humor in the mundane
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking of obnoxiously awful rhymes:

"I'm eating my carrots like e'ryday
The most efficient way to get my Vitamin A
I can steam 'em up, or I can saute
Three to five servings says the FDA"

That's just scratching the surface. With topics such as 2-cent stamps, peeling potatoes, and small businesses remitting sales tax to local municipalities in a timely fashion, the potential is limitless.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a remarkably picky eater. It would probably be easier for me to list the foods I like rather than the ones I don’t. Mustard, mayo, salad dressings, and cheese are just some of the foods I don’t like. It’s actually why I got into cooking. I know what I like.
