My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Born in the New York area, moved to Massachusetts for college, back here after school, then back up to Massachusetts for a job, then back to New York. My life is the Chinatown bus. :)

I'm here hoping to find someone real. I value warmth, intelligence, curiosity, and a sense of humor. Or at least enough of a sense of humor that you'll put up with my jokes. (According to OKCupid's 3-variable funny test, I desire to see more testicles on fire. I'm quite intrigued by their use of the word "more"....)

I'm far from cookie cutter. In my life, I have never found anyone whose interests exactly overlap with mine, which is fine. (How would you grow if you only hung around clones?) If you share some of my interests, below, great! And if not, let's learn from each other. This is what I think defines me:

• My warmth.
• My love of family and friends. I think there's nothing more important than the love of those around you.
• My love of music. Specifically, classical music. During the fall, winter, and spring, I'm at Lincoln Center all the time. During the summer, I love road tripping out to a place called Tanglewood tucked in the Berkshire mountains of Western Massachusetts, where you can break out a picnic and a bottle of wine and listen to the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the stars.
• My love of food and wine. (See the Food section, below.) I love eating more than cooking, but I do love throwing dinner parties because it brings people together.
• My love of science. I know it sounds nerdy, and maybe it is. But the world is an interesting place. Did you know that there are far more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on Earth? That thought always puts life into perspective. Knowing what we're made of and why we're here is an endlessly fascinating topic for me.
• My love of travel. Yeah, everyone says this one. I still think I have a stronger sense of wanderlust than most people. I have been so incredibly lucky to have seen a lot of the world, yet still I feel like I haven't seen anything. I can't wait to see more.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Software consultant for one of the so-called "Big Four". I think this pretty much sums up my job*:

Consulting is challenging work, but my work definitely does not define me.

* Not really.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Earning frequent flier miles. (When "Up in the Air" was in theaters, I got a lot of comparisons to George Clooney's character.)
Making people feel appreciated.
This. (I also have perfect pitch. Both make me equally fun at parties. :) )
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a non-fiction kinda guy, and I've f*cking loved science even before I F*cking Love Science. Two of my favorite authors are particle physicist/cosmologist Lawrence Krauss and string theorist Brian Greene. (I also love Neil deGrasse Tyson, but I've never read any of his books. I just listen to his podcast.)

I love dramas, documentaries, action movies, and comedies but the ones on my shelf are usually action or really quotable comedies because of their rewatch value:
Airplane!, The American President, Back to the Future, The Bourne Identity, Top Secret! (Okay, "The American President" is neither, but it's Aaron Sorkin, so it's awesome.)

The Big Bang Theory. BBC Sherlock. My friends recently got me into Game of Thrones, but I have a ways to go to catch up.
America's Test Kitchen and Lidia on PBS.
Some of my favorite shows in the past have been Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, and The West Wing.

I mostly listen to classical music. Here are some favorite composers: Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Chopin.
Every once in a while, I end up listening to a musical for months on end. Recently it was Wicked, then last year I sawThe Book of Mormon and that became the musical du jour for several jours.

I'm a foodie, and try to be open-minded. I will try most things, with the understanding that you don't have to like everything you try, but you'll also never expand your horizons without trying new things. Some of my favorite foods include dan dan noodles, Brazilian rodizio, halo-halo, passionfruit and mangoes and most things with passionfruit or mangoes in them, bubble tea, phở, pumpkin-flavored anything (except, oddly, pumpkin pie), and oysters. Regardless of the diverse set of cultures that my food interests draw upon, there are no substitutes for pizza and Carvel ice cream cake.

I break for Jim Jefferies, Louis CK, and Patton Oswalt.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How small we are in the universe.
What's for dinner. :)
