I am entertaining, humorous, and empathic.

My Self-Summary

So what to write? Well, I'm the kind of guy that can laugh at himself or find humor in everyday life. Just looking for someone to share new experiences or simply enjoy the mundane. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a geek, but hey, I don't own a copy of the Klingon dictionary! Being a former theatre person, people say that I can overdramatize things. I just say that I "enliven" events! ; )

I can intensely enjoy conversation. My personal philosophy is something akin to "Why say one word when you can say ten?". I will admit that I tend to be a bit forgetful, and it is not uncommon for my close friends to start telling me that I've already told them of an event...On multiple occasions.

As a committed Chicago Bears fan, I love watching football. For me, football season is the ONLY season! I've been known to be rather competitive, mainly because I hate losing! Especially, if it's something along the lines of intellectual contests like word games or involves creative thinking.

Aside from all that, I consume books when I get the chance, Heroes is the best damn show on television, and I don't care what people say...Swing dancing is not dead!

I’m really good at

One of the things I'm really good at is maintaining a wealth of trivia, useless or otherwise! Not that it helps me get ahead in life or anything, but it can definately keep things from getting dull...

Beyond that, I think that I'm a great conversationist. I enjoy relating things to people and listening to other's thoughts.

The first things people usually notice about me

Most people notice my flair for the dramatic, so to speak (Usually they laugh and roll their eyes, or get a little embarrassed...Either way, it's fun!). It could be due to the fact that I need to talk with my hands. I will get flustered if challenged to keep my hands at my sides when trying to express something.

I'll manage to do it, but I'll sound stupid trying!

I think my favorite thing about meeting new people is to discover if I can make them laugh. I enjoy when I can share the same sense of humor with someone and I believe smiling is an important key to the day!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

When it comes to books, I love The Count of Monte Cristo and often will often pick it up to read again if I feel that I've let too much time pass since last enjoying it. The same can also be said for Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. Or anything written by R.A. Salvatore. Generally, I enjoy thiller, sci-fi, fantasy and the classics. I can devour a book in no time, and I'll reread them constantly.

As far as movies, I have to say I'm more of the sci-fi kind of guy. I will admit that I have come to thoroughly enjoy the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies...Sad but true! I've even downloaded the remixed versions of the theme (Which, by the way, is actually one of the themes originally used in "Gladiator"! Listen to the opening battle sequence in that movie, and you'll hear what I mean!). And yes, I am a Disney fan. Disneyland at Christmas time is the best! I think "Transformers" is a great movie, but I also think that "Love Actually" is one of the best romantic/comedies I have ever seen. I'd like to think I have pretty eclectic tastes when it comes to movies. I can appreciate most kinds of movies, so long as they are written well and have great dialogue. Or lots of explosions with cool sound effects. *sigh!* Maybe I'm not that discriminating when it comes to movies... Most of my friends do rely on me for answers to movie trivia, though!

When it comes to my music, I think that I can appreciate most types of music, but I really love my piano rock'n'roll (Billy Joel, Elton John). I enjoy Ani DiFranco, Swing, Pearl Jam, Hawaiian...The list goes on and on!

As far as food, well, so long as it isn't still twitching, I'll eat it!

The six things I could never do without

My family, my cup o' joe or vanilla chai lattes, my sense of humor (Everyone's gotta have a self-defense mechanism!), my glasses (because I am blind as a bat without 'em...), my cell (all the better to keep in touch with friends far away.), and my computer (I love my Mac, I love my Mac, but I don't LOVE my Mac!)

My friends do make fun of me when it comes to my Mac, though. I once left on the speech alerts (Which had a female voice) and when my friend heard it say my name, she rolled her eyes and said "Oh, boy...You've finally went and got an iGirlfriend!"

The last thing (Or rather, the first and foremost thing!) that I could never do without is my daughter...but I don't believe in posting about her. Which is why she's not in my six. Not that I don't trust the people on this site, but you never can tell! So, for those that know me, that is the reason why I don't mention her here...'Sides, having her in my life is a given top priority.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

...how much I tend to over-think things! I guess having an Obsessive/Compulsive nature will make one do that...

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with two of the coolest lesbians I know, which usually leads to drinking large volumes of alcohol, checking out women and waking up the next morning on their couch. It usually starts with a speaker phone call from both of them something like this:

Them: "Hey! Get dressed and meet us at the bar!"

Me: "You guys have the worst timing...I'm 3 Red Stripe and 2 Guinness into the night. I'm not driving."

Them: "C'mon! We wanna go out and have fun. Just meet us there!"

Me: "No, I kinda buzzed and I'm not going anywhere."

Them: "Shut up and get ready. We're dressed up and we're gonna pick you up, so no excuses."

Me: "...."

"Give me fifteen minutes"

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Is the fact that back when I had long hair, I was constantly being confused for a girl from behind...

I've had more than a few coworkers checking me out until I turned around.

I really don't know how to take that...
