My self-summary
I'm an unabashed nerd- I love politics, history, mythology, board games, video games, sci fi. Spending a lot of my time lately reading for law school, but would like to get to know new people and continue to explore the city.
What I’m doing with my life
In my first year of law school in DC. Hanging out with my case books and my cat.
I’m really good at
Playing fetch with my cat, Starbuck; making a Donald Duck call; Scrabble; Gin Rummy; grammar; cooking; Netflixing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Sandman series, anything else by Neil Gaiman, or Terry Pratchett. I love the Valdemar books by Mercedes Lackey. Welcome to the Monkey House, Slaughterhouse-Five, or anything else by Kurt Vonnegut. I love sci-fi/fantasy, satire, historical fiction, history and humor, but I'll pretty much read whatever you put in front of me. I am a book worm.

TV: Doctor Who, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Futurama, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Bob's Burgers, Archer, West Wing

Movies: Star Wars, Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, French Kiss, While You Were Sleeping, Captain America: The First Avenger, Lord of the Rings, Batman (Nolan movies), Catch Me If You Can, Juno, Blade Runner, Mickey Blue Eyes, Small Time Crooks, Sleepover Bandits, Guardians of the Galaxy, the list goes on.

Music: the Clash, Raconteurs, Creedance Clearwater Revival, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, U2, Frankie Valli, Journey, Coldplay, Something Corporate, Fugazi, Sex Pistols, Iggy and the Stooges, Guided by Voices, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Kasilag Guitar Quartet, Amadeus Guitar Duo. Truth be told, I love most music. I like to have music/background noise most of the time, except when I'm trying to sleep. I'll give anything a shot.

Food: I love food. I love to cook and I love to eat. I love the social aspect of cooking/eating. Everything from raw oysters to a bowl of spaghetti. Sushi, drunken noodle, lamb vindaloo, naan, Chinese food, mexican food, plantains, pho, pizza, steak, burgers, sandwiches, roasted vegetables, in-season fruits and vegetables. I'll try pretty much anything once.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:

1. Water (I'm not being sarcastic - I actually really LOVE water).

2. My family. I have a huge, lovely, warm family. They keep me balanced and sane. Thanksgiving and Passover are my favorite times of year.

3. Music. It keeps me focused when I'm working, calms me down when I'm stressed, cheers me up when I'm sad, etc.

4. Some sort of writing implement (pens, computers, pencils, highlighters, whatever, I'll make do).

5. Cooking. When I'm really stressed or overwhelmed, I usually end up in the kitchen throwing together a meal and looking for friends to come over and eat it.

6. Friends. The friends I have made over the years have so enriched and improved my life, and I do not know what I would do without them. Also, my cat.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics, the -isms, recipes, words, grammar, Doctor Who. I have ADD, so my brain generally feels like a TV flipping channels.
On a typical Friday night I am
It varies quite a lot. Sometimes, I go out with my friends (bars, movies, concerts, etc.), or stay in and play Dominion or scrabble with friends and family. Other times, I'm unwinding by myself with a book, a movie or a video game. I love to cook, and often use Fridays to take the time to make a big meal and invite friends over.

Lately, sadly, I've been doing a lot of homework on Fridays (*sniff* so sad)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a trans man. If you want to know more about that, feel free to message me or check out my blog:
You should message me if
I'm looking for new friends and new connections. Would love someone who is interested in learning about the city and what it has to offer. If you feel the urge to message me, go ahead and do it! I love to talk to new people.
