My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My dream home is a library: shelves stacked floor to ceiling, books tucked in corners on every surface, comfy chairs, couches, and coffee tables and that wonderful vanilla, leather, and ink smell. The only two rooms without books would be the pillow room, which is the room full of pillows, and the bed room, which is the room that has a wall-to-wall bed in it for optimal sprawling.

I love hanging out with friends, but my idea of a good night is playing board games or just sitting around a fire pit talking, trading stories, and joking around. I'm not really into loud parties.

If you'd rather go to a bookstore with a coffee shop than to a bar, or if you'd rather go to a library or a museum than climb a mountain, we'll probably get along.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
These days I dispatch for Bloodworks Northwest. It's not glamorous work but it pays the bills and the schedule allows me to continue my education.

I'm in school for networking certifications. Turns out enterprise networking is a bit more complicated than grabbing a Netgear router off Amazon and plugging in some cables. Who knew?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking. I like to know how to make ingredients and things. I learned to make sausage, cheese, bread, and more because the more factors I can adjust, the better the product tends to be.

I would bake more often, but if I bake anything I end up eating it all and that's never a good thing.

I'm also a decent writer.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm bald. I like to think that my hair migrated south and decided it liked it too much to move back.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: When left to my own devices I tend to gravitate to sci-fi and urban fantasy, and I have a (not-so) secret love of YA. Right now I'm reading Thud! by Terry Pratchett. The best book I've read lately was The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon. I recommend it.

Movies: Star Wars, Star Trek (old and new), again mostly sci-fi and fantasy. I like comedy, I like action, I like some drama. I am not opposed to the occasional rom-com either. I am not a huge fan of horror but I'll watch it. What I like most is making snarky comments at bad movies MST3K style.

Shows: I find cooking competitions endlessly fun. I honestly don't watch much TV. I have been watching Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown though, that's pretty good. Lots of places I'd love to go, and some I'll never see.

Music: Mostly rock music with some stretching into electronica and older hip hop. I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit that I enjoy a lot of Top 40s hits these days. I'll listen to pretty much anything.

Food: Thai food is one of my favorite things right now. I know a great place. I like a good burger from time to time, and I enjoy pizza but really, who doesn't? Breakfast for dinner is awesome, as are leftovers for breakfast.

I also dig board games.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A working kitchen. Even something as simple as a pot hanging over a campfire will do in a pinch. I've been told my campfire bread is amazing.

Pen and paper. Can't have one without the other.

Books. My bookshelf isn't actually big enough, so I have several boxes full of books as well.

My cat Eli. He has kept me company through some rough times. I love the little man.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
School and what I'm going to do next.

What am I going to have for dinner?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My typical Friday night ranges from spending time with friends playing board games to going out. If I have nothing else to do I also enjoy relaxing at home and reading. Friday night is actually my Saturday so I like to get my social stuff in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't fully understand why people don't like Michael Bay movies. Sometimes a movie doesn't have to be deep to be fun.

You want to meet up for coffee or drinks. Let's face it, it's tough getting to know someone from a profile and a few messages.

You have a terrible joke you want to share with me. I mean "so unfunny it's hilarious" terrible, not racist or hateful.
