I believe, as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry so eloquently put it in The Little Prince that, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." My life has been a quest to see with the heart what is beneath the surface of things. Therefore, spirituality has been quite important to me. That said, I don't wear my spirituality on my sleeve and nor do I claim any particular faith or religion. I'm more interested in Truth (what actually is) rather than any superstition, story or myth about what is.
Let’s get real! I’d rather that we be authentic and honest from the very beginning, even at the risk of rejection, rather than trying to influence or manipulate our opinions of one another! If you’re up for this game of truth, let me know and I’ll tell you more.
I’m very choosy about whom I sleep with. I’d rather be single and sleep alone than settle. While the right chemistry may not be the most important thing, it’s pretty high on the list!
I traveled around the world for 2 years in my early thirties until I finally asked directions and found my way home. New Zealand and Indonesia were two of my favorite countries. I love to travel and finally made it to Africa last year in 2010. I spent most of the 4 months I was in Africa around Cape Town, South Africa but I also took a few weeks to drive up the West coast to Namibia, a beautiful, sparsely populated country. I also found time to visit Hawaii last year and did an awesome hike down into the Haleakala crater.
Music can sometimes bring me to tears. I play the piano and guitar for fun but I’m not giving up my day job anytime soon! My tastes in music run from New Age to Classical, Folk and World to Pop.
I am a technophile and a bit of a gadget freak but don’t worry--I won’t wear a utility belt out to dinner! My favorite gadget of the moment is my new iPad. In addition to my iPhone4S I have a few Macs, a digital camera, more iPods than I care to disclose, and a Garmin GPS. Ever been Geocaching?
I have a blog on StumbleUpon which you can check out here: http://davidgrove.stumbleupon.com/blog/. You can also check out my Twitter Feed here: http://twitter.com/Dahveed7. Both of these will, if you read between the lines, tell you quite a bit about me.
I have a preference for younger women. Don’t take it personally but if you’re older than me and you wink at me I probably won’t respond. If, however, you send me an email and I find it to be authentic and real I'll probably respond but our chances of becoming anything more than friends is probably low. That said, I'm open to developing a friendship with anyone that I resonate with and feel that sometimes friends can be as emotionally intimate as lovers.
